A front shot wouldn't hide anything. I'm not asking for a front shot to replace any of the ones they've shown here. It should accompany them.

When you install these pieces, you're not going to be looking at the side or back of the new alt mode. It's all about the front.

The products (arm panels and shoulder slides) are literally on the back in the cassette player mode. Complelety hidden behind the leg speakers. I understand your point about wanting to see a front shot but from what I can tell it's no different than the fan mode visually. It's the getting there thats being sold. What I fail to understand is why it's suspicious.

so besides the arm filler, what the difference between this and the showz store set that allowed for the same transformation ?

The showz set is hinged from what I’m remembering so the arm transformation is different. This set the arms just slide back

Nope, this just plugs into the existing arm parts. It’s basically like if you took the arms off, but the track is longer and closes off on the back side

thats good to hear, but how does the new piece stay on then? do you have to glue it in ? seems like it would fall out everytime you pulled the arms back ?

and does this affect the spaceship mode transformation ?

I'm sold so long as they don't compromise his intended alt mode.

There are slots on the arm hinges that the white tabs slide into. Looks like it should work nicely.

Looks like a nice upgrade idea. I\'m not too crazy about having to work two mushroom pegs out of their holes every time I want to put Soundwave into a cassette player mode, but I guess this is the only way to go about doing this without having to punch out pins and replace parts. Also, I hope this guy makes a two cassette tape door. Not sure how one would implement that without taking out pins and springs, though.

The mushroom pegs are easy to pop out without damage so it should be fine.

It's a bit hard to be certain, as we only have one photo to work from, but it looks like Soundwave's upcoming redeco as Soundblaster will have a double-deep cassette chest (as is traditional for Soundblaster, going all the way back to G1).

I wonder about that, too. Is it increased cost due to increased part count, or something else I'm not aware of? I remember two of the deluxe class TR figures I have (Weirdwolf and Topspin) were released with forearm panels to hide the gap resulting from flipping out the fist, but it seemed random on those two figures and not the rest of the line, and they were the same price as everyone else in that size class for that line (and I hardly remember anyone celebrating the fact amidst the complaints of hollow all over the place).

He can. Original alt mode isn't hindered at all with our shoulder parts attached, so it should be fine using these Shockwave Lab parts, since it's basically a retooled copy of our design. =P

Which only raises the question of "Why didn't they just do that in the first place? There's literally no reason to not make a two-cassette-holding Soundwave." Hell, making a single-tape-holding Soundwave means more work since it requires designing and molding two variants instead of having just the one door.

Still, I'm not crazy about wearing it out over time. I'll think I'll stick with that Cybertronian boombox fanmode.
