Hey everyone, Here's a custom FOC Shockwave I did recently using Megatron31's casted add-on (flexible black bracer + translucent purple/pink gun). Really great casted parts. I think they a much-needed comic book look to the figure. Base figure is FOC Shockwave, with Classics Cyclonus legs. I masked the figure's gray plastic areas, and sprayed the whole figure with Tamiya Violet spray paint. Silver areas were painted with Mr. Hobby lacquer Super Metallic Chrome paint, the eye with Mr. Hobby Yellow + after drying, a drop of Liquid type superglue that cured in a perfect semi-circle. The rest of the figure was dry brushed / edged with Vallejo Royal Purple (mixed both up and down a bit) + Vallejo Magenta & Fushia pink acrylics. Whole figure was sealed inside (legs) and out with Mr. Spray Ultra Clear UV Cut Matte finish. No issues with paint rub, even after multiple transformations, and some extended posing/play. Hope you like the pics. * * * Also, semi-related: The G2 Bruticus in the last shot involves a (new?) fan transformation I did involving FOC Brawl as a Backpack. More info on that here.
Nice job. Shockwave's standing cannon mode reminds me of the walking rocket launchers the aliens had from Battle LA
very nice. I just did the leg swap on my FOC shockwave and it looks freaking awesome. Great idea. Those Cyclonus legs are very shockwave styled.
This is great. So when you use Mr. Spray Ultra Clear UV Cut Matte finish, it doesn't leave your figures with a sticky feel? I use Testors semi gloss and it sometimes leaves me with a sticky feel. Anyway great job and I love the new Bruticus backpack.
