    The award is intended to promote young actors who have already established a strong track record and are starting to break through in public recognition. This award is part of the British Academy Film Awards. Shia will go up against...

    Ellen Page (Juno)
    Sienna Miller (Stardust)
    Sam Riley (Control)
    Tang Wei (Lust, Caution)

    The award will be given February 10th.

    I'm sorry Shia, but Ellen Page knocked it up out of the park with Juno.

    Not really, considering that Shia is pretty much teh face of the whole franchise right now. And he's nominated largely for his role in the Transformers movie. I'd say it's TF news alright.

    Shia

    I haven't seen "Juno" yet, but a couple points I'll make:
    1)Ellen was good in "X-3" and really good in, "Hard Candy";that film will cut (pun intended) your brain;
    2)When the next Indiana Jones flick comes out, Shia's star power is really gonna blow up, as they say.

    As a newsie, I wouldn't have reported it in News & Rumor if it wasn't news. It may not be exciting news to you or others, but it's Transformers news nonetheless.

    "news" / "exiting news" or not, shia is not a transformer.

    lets not encourage having a human one as the face of the transformers.

    i'm sorry you guys can put up whatever kind of news you want, its your site.i just dont think of shia as a transformer.and neither is daniel even though they stuck him in arcee.

    i dont think people should blame m.bay if they were let down by the movie,he didnt go to hasbro and ask for the rights to make this movie,he was hired to do his job.and he did a great job making a great movie,as usual.the higher ups needed to get the movie made and wanted it to be great and make money.they werent thinking "who do we get to make a great transformers movie" they were thinking "who do we get to make this transformers thing into a great movie".the people who worked on the movie did their job well, but i feel the higher ups just picked the wrong people for the job.bay saying in the commentary about him and the crew feeling kinda wierd saying things like bumblebee and megatron, shia hanging on the side of that building saying how much of a dork he feels saying"you're never gonna get the all-spark",bay saying not sure if the two writers will be back for the second one because they dont know if "there's any magic left in it"?!?!these people clearly are not fans, and i dont mean die-hard fans.

    Well, it had to be Shia. I think they would have disqualified Bumblebee. :p

    But Shia *IS* Autobot Spike. And the Autobots are Transformers. :p

    -airfox (still puzzled why people complain about what's news and what isn't)
