True damn story!
Oh god. I'm not into SG at all but I'm gonna have to get this for those completely unexpected faux Energon Megatron parts.
Most likely 5 PM EST. That seems to be when the premium pulse exclusivity ends for all their pre orders.
I didn't realize he came with his sword so you can still make the tank mode, haha. That's cool.
Well... That certainly is something that we wouldn't have gotten had they used the Galvatron mold.
I mean, they did what they could with what they had. But the result isn't to brag about.
I guess I'm in the minority that likes it. Pre-ordered him.
Firstly, yes it is. It's Transformers, not LEGO. They are meant to actually transform, not be taken apart and rearranged. Secondly, even if I were to conceded that it can be necessary for accuracy (which I don't) this is not necessary. There are far more fitting molds out there for a figure that's meant to look like Energon Megatron. This is just Hasbro prioritizing getting a black helmet G1 Megatron out there and using these accessories as to pretend otherwise.
Couldn't they just waited until Kingdom Galvatron? Because you know, SG Megatron is based on Energon Megatron which in itself is designed after G1 Galvatron.
Now I will admit, this SG Megatron's colors are great and eye popping. Seeing the color scheme applied to a proper G1 Megatron body (rather than SG Meg using a Galvatron body) makes the color scheme work. This look is believable as an alternate universe Megatron where is the 1980 iconic saturday morning cartoon hero which children cheered and now adult fans have nostalgia for.
they've finally milked this mold so much it turned white....
I dunno, my distaste for all things Shattered Glass aside, while the amount of remolding is impressive, at the same time the alt mode looks like a homemade kit bash and the partsforming is just terrible.
Seems like using K Glavatron or even better TR Galvatron with a new Megatron head and wings would have yielded better results on getting the Energon Megatron vibe the OG SG Megs had.
nice to see what looks like the Siege head on the ER body though.
Also, the alt mode has a veeery slight “Klingon Bird-of-Prey” vibe that I am very much into.
Not that I want to stir the pot, but the original G1 Transformers were just about all parts-formers. PRIME and the SEEKERS had to put hands on, I don't even know how to describe IRONHIDE/RATCHET, but yeah, Partsforming has been part of the toys since the beginning.
I'm surprised how much I like this.
I suspect his tank mode still works.
Damn, I was trying to avoid Shattered Glass. I already have hundreds of Transformers and didn't want another sub-line. But I caved and just preordered SG Megatron, SG Blurr and went and bought SG Optimus Prime and Ratchet. I've been eyeing the SG two pack for a long time since absolutely love the colors on SG OP and SG Ratchet. Just another excuse to buy more Transformers.
I've seen some lazy things in my day, but holy shit! This takes the cake. Wow.
No. Lazy would have been not bothering to come up with the three new parts for his jet mode.
I mean, if you think the alt looks janky he appears capable of turning in to his tank, and from there you can probably find a home for the jet pieces.
Wow, a Stormlight Archive reference on TFW, nice.
Honestly if they had just found a way to add panels to hide the thighs in spaceship mod it would have almost worked.
A Turd no matter how much you paint it gold is still just a turd.
