the appeal of a modern toyline is that it doesn't have to be subject to the same limitations as G1 figures.

I am just kinda disappointed that this looks phoned in.  I would be more excited if (in vehicle mode) those thighs were hidden by the cockpit/shield accessory

They would have made more money with a Galvatron repaint since he's a size class up. More likely than not, they don't really care about being extremely accurate to the FunPub stuff, so they just thought "okay, this is an alternate universe Megatron, so we'll redeco Siege Megatron, and throw in these extra pieces as a reference to the old stuff"

Not just that, but Shattered Glass is pretty niche. I know they're aiming directly at adult collectors with this subline, but how many of those adult collectors have actually read any of the previous SG comics or handled the figures? I know I haven't, granted I can only speak to my personal experiences. Honestly, prior to this new subline and comic I didn't have much interest in SG simply because I knew it was something I'd never be able to get into.

Wonder if I was the only one hoping that if SG Megs was to happen, it would be a repaint of Super Megatron?
I hope you can fan mode him into something that looks a little nicer.
Actually think the biggest flaw is his headsculpt. That face just looks as menacing as ever... would have been nice had they made a more heroic looking one.

to be honest, I am liking how he looks with the brand new parts. I wasn't not planning on getting any more SG releases short of the Prime/Ratchet set but I decided to go ahead and get Megatron to pair him with Prime. Now I just need a SG Starscream or Sideswipe/Drench to balance out Ratchet.

If I had to knock something on this release it would be the head and specifically the face for this very reason. The one thing that really won me over on SG Selects Prime was the cold red eyes and how they really popped against the darker helmet color. On SG Megatron, he looks really angry and you don't see the blue optics as much either. Hasbro did a good job with the remolded parts but a face resculpt or headswap would have really took this to the next level.

And speaking of heads, IIRC, this is the very first time I can remember evver getting a G1 style Black helmet Megatron of any kind (not counting any previous SG releases).

Hmmm... If you think about mass shifting for that cockpit to be big enough for a human or bot to sit in, that vehicle mode is HUGE!!

As much as I like the idea of a Heroic Megatron, This looks really iffy if I\'m honest, the robot mode looks alright but the jet mode looks really iffy. They could\'ve retooled galvatron into SG megatron but I guess this is what we got.

but I\'d imagine people will still like this so more power to them :)

i'm happy that no ones arguing that "an Energon Megatron from the Galvatron mold would be too expensive, thats why this is the Siege one!"
im not even an Energon fan and I'd pay £50-60 for that design, doubly so if it was SG Megs.

yep, you are good if you purchased SG Megatron at $30. Your price is locked in. It’s happened previously before at Hasbro Pulse - most famously with the Centurion Drone at $19.99 before the price was bumped up to $29.99 dollars. Everyone who preordered the Centurion drone when the price was at $19.99 got it at that price.

Can anyone do that trick where they know the amount of pre orders remaining? I'm not tech savy enough to pull it off.

That Jet Mode reminds me of Prime Megatron’s Jet Mode.

So we got extra parts with no price increase to make Megatron a triple changer. His new alt mode being a rediculous alien space craft (fyi shape doesn't matter in space). This is awesome, all I see on here is whiney neck beards, the same pack of heathens that will tell you with a straight face that their 150 dollar voyager is superior to a hasbro voyager because rea$ons.

As others have mentioned no way SG Megatron would be from the Super Megatron mold since the Super Megatron mold is owned by Takara and not Hasbro.

Plus, super Megatron by itself without the SG comic book is already $60 dollars.

I would have happily paid leader price for this if it used the new Galvatron mold. This is definitely interesting but it's just not working for me, although the extra bits for the same price is nice
