Oh man. This one is the culmination of my skills so far, I feel. I’ve wanted a Shattered Glass Galvatron since I first saw him on the TFWiki, and finally had an idea of how to get one.

I mean, the figure may be prohibitively expensive, but the old Target exclusive Springer is only $20 on eBay. I mean, who would want a repainted Evac?

    Me. I would.

So one Springer later, I began to work on taking this guy apart. I wasn’t as familiar with the Unicron Trilogy it figures, though I have made an Energon Hot Shot into SG Bumblebee. So I went one limb at a time, and while the freaking right leg was actually superglued shut at points, I was able to eventually get him painted properly.

I will admit that he’s not perfect enough to fool anyone. His hands still have an inner green wall inside the 5mm hole, and the paints aren’t perfect. I also chose not to paint the hook, since that’s just asking for trouble. I also hodgepodged the tampographs in a way that isn’t horrible, but is far from perfect. The Cyber Key is also pitifully done, since I couldn’t hide the blatant Autobot logo and I don’t own another Cybertron figure to borrow a ‘Con key from.

Vehicle mode looks respectable as well, though you can still see some green plastic hiding inside the cockpit.

Since I’m also crazy, I had also made a Rumbler imitation for a Siege SG Megs. And it totally works here.

Also, have some group shots. First with a legit Nova Prime...

...and then with (some of) my other SG Decepticon customs.

He’s not perfect, but I am damned proud of this one.

    Ebay:
Looking good. And technically you get authenticity points. The first version was made the same way by a fun pub staff member before they decided to create a true exclusive to sell at a botcon if memory serves.

Well done on a nice custom. I can't believe how well that figure actually works as Galvatron.

I was interested to see a Galvatron made from the actual Generations Springer, but the Universe mold is good too.

Nice paint job. The panel lining brings out depth nicely
