heh, I thought that shattered glass characters often took colours from their opposites (like Ravage being coloured like steeljaw for example In combiners case for example I'd expect to see Superion in Menasor's colours and vice versa.)

What's the inspiration for the colour scheme you've chosen?

SG Dirge is based off of Bumblebee.

Actually, he's based off of BW2 Dirge, just in reversed colors. The Beast Wars one was mainly yellow, with black stripes.

Hrm... Brut's colors make him look like 'Fruiticus,' but the recoloring itself was done rather well. Anyways, if memory serves me the (SG)Constructions are the original (G1) Protectobot colors. (SG) Scrapper has (G1) Hot Spot's blue and red. However (SG) Computron was colored as (G1) Abominus - a direct opposite. Then there's (SG) Breakdown, who looks like his original (G1) base and detail colors were swapped.

In all I think it's up to the writer to choose what the counterpart would look like. In the US G1 line we often saw Devastator as the arch-rival of the Combaticons, and yet (SG) Grimlock is painted as (G1) Trypticon. I think that's because (SG) Grimlock's personality is closer to (G1) Trypticon.

So if the colors dictate the persona, what's up with these Combaticons here? Are they pacifistic neat-freaks that spend more time in the paint care aisle than G1 Sunstreaker?

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm getting a very Whirl-esque vibe from the copter-arm, and a mildly Springer-esque vibe from the copter-leg. And Barricade could be Hardhead.

    It's all supposition, tho.
A really good job on the digi! :)

Yea, never limit yourself to "opposite" coloring, Grimlock is the perfect example of them, so is Megatron, and Jazz, and the list goes on...

For me, when I wrote a background story for the SG Aerialbots, I went with the G1 Seekers Skywarp, Thundercracker, Dirge, Thrust and Ramjet for their coloring

You mean Guzzle, the tank that hung out with Sizzle and Fizzle? Hard Spark was his Japanese recolor, right?
