    Flabbergasting.

If those are low-quality renders I fear to know how it would look like at 100% :)
Do you plan to create these in Shapeways? I mean, with the springs and everything.

Really, it is people like you that keeps me inspired and motivated to keep improving everyday. Respect!

Thanks for the kind words man. The render will look the same, just with less grain. mental ray is a pain to use.

Everything but the springs. I modeled the cannon around the spring size from a Tull brand ballpoint pen. The mouth of the cannon will be held together by 2 small ruber-bands. One on each side. It was the only way I could hold the lower part in place. A custom made spring would work too, but I don't know who to go to for that.

Dude YOU are my total Hero. I can only hope my figures (if and when I make them) will turn out half as nice as yours.

    Edit:
The cannon details are done. I have just a few assembly odds and ends to finish up, and then it's time to make the missile. I fear what this will cost from shapeways. The total length is over 133mm.....

Thanks guys. When done, the loaded rocket launcher will have a resemblance to Omega Supreme's Rocket mode. Just a little homage. I'm calling it the Omega Launcher. :lolol

I wanted it to be like an old multistage NASA rocket when it fires. That's why the front opens the way it dose, to resemble the panels breaking apart and the next stage rocket shooting off.

    Thanks man!

I got the launcher finished off and all the assembly components installed. Now I'm going to start work on the rocket. The rocket is going to have a little twist, when you fire it, the rocket will then launch it's own projectile mid-flight. It's going to be an interesting challenge.

Hi everyone. Just wanted to drop in and say happy new year! I've been getting a lot of PM's for project ideas, currently I'm in involved with an on-going toy design project and am not taking requests right now. Even my personal projects are on hold, so I don't have anything new to share. I did put my launcher up on shapeways a little while ago. It's expensive! Like $86.00! I'm going to wait to get it for now. I'll let shapeways get out of this low-quality over-ordered slump that's been going on.

Wow! That price is absurd. Great design though. Hopefully Shapeways would be able to get the price down.

Yeah the cannon was never actually meant to be a shapeways model. I was just an assembly and work flow study. I had to scale it up a lot so it could meet the minimum wall standards. It's over 133mm long!

I see now... Well, hopefully you can finish up your other projects when you get a chance. That shotgun is sweet looking. :thumbs2:

Any chance of getting some simpler weapons for the DOTM Deluxe wreckers?

I'm back from my hiatus. While I still dont have a lot of time on my hands right now, managed to squeeze out a rocket for my launcher. Not quite what I had in mind for the rocket, but I needed to finish off this thing. I couldn't figure out how to make a delayed second fire but maybe sometime down the road I'll figure something out.

There's a good chance this thing might not work. Its a total coin toss. But it should be interesting to see how it turns out.

I think the design is exemplary.

When all the bugs are resolved I say put it up for order even if it is pricey. I may need
something to get for myself for stocking stuffer this coming Christmas.

Pricey? At around $86 without the rocket, that isn't pricey... That's absurd.

Trust me, I'm under no delusions about this thing. It wont sell and I understand that. I'll buy one just to see how it turns out, but this thing is pretty much an experiment.
