Really fast model thrown together for the Transformers Age of Extinction deluxe class DRIFT. After getting the figure the swords were just comical.... so I made a set of longer and skinnier blades for him. Will make available on Shapeways later today for those that might be interested.

Will they have pegs on the handles to peg them onto the robot mode back?

Presuming his done this properly (and it's Zildjian so it has to be)- those diagonal slats actually are how you'll probably want to attach the swords.

There are more places to put the swords on his back than he has swords. Techically the pegs should be included, but I'd probably be happier if he didn't since all you really need is the slats.

I might pick these up. I need to repaint my swords any how and these look to be a real improvement.

Slats? Does Drift have diagonal pegs or something? I still don't have this guy in hand yet, sadly..

Yes. Most images we've seen so far with his swords on his back use the slats (for the long swords- short need the pegs as far as I've noticed).

Sign me up! I'll take a set. Are you making the daggers too or just the swords?

I realise that this is quite old, but I agree. In my opinion the only thing he really needs is a new headsculpt without that ridiculous smile.

I've actually done a head mod to swap his noggin for the Voyager mold, non transformable but it really improves the look.

Seen a lot of zombies in my time, this one's one I approve. Even if AoE's not very relevant anymore, there's nothing wrong with a new batch of swords to buy.

And yes, Drift's goofy smile really needs to be fixed in a way that doesn't involve using the Voyager head which disables transformation.

The whole disabling transformation is sorta why I don't want to get these swords. Because they probably don't fit into vehicle mode. Maybe I'm crazy, but I've always considered integrating weapons into vehicle mode (in a way that's unobtrusive) an important factor. One of the things I liked about the AoE line is that every figure who had a weapon could store it subtly in vehicle mode (excluding Hound and evasion Prime). I hope that whatever they do with the TLK line, they just keep that feature.

Well, I did mean the head, but if I recall correctly, the deluxe Drift's swords attach in alt-mode with 5mm pegs, so these wouldn't be able to store under there either. Not like they would necessarily disable transformation, but I see your point.
