I know people have purchased from NY before, but is the site very reliable? I'm surprised they still have the FO Stormtroopers in stock and preorders for the Riot Trooper. I'm tempted to get them, but have been waiting for amiami to open preorders for the Riot.

I'm in the same boat here myself. Would love a riot, but Yassan seems sketchy.

I got awakening Goku from Yassan and came just fine... their shipping is bit much tho, I prefer HLJ

I was gonna get 5 amiibos from them and the shipping was more than the freaking amiibos... it doubled the price

You'd be waiting a long time. The Riot Trooper is a Tamashii Web exclusive.

Nippon Yasan's hardly sketchy, but when it comes to web exclusives they've become a bit of a pain in the ass.

Before, you could take a "pay later" option for any orders with web exclusives and not pay until a week or so before they were due at NY, so you could pay well after the actual order period ended. Bandai changed when they ask for payment for web orders (there's some more behind that, I forget the exact details) to at least a few months ahead of time. NY now asks for payment on web exclusives around the end date of the ordering period, but it's still a few days ahead of time, and because we don't know the end date until maybe a couple weeks before it happens, you get only a small period of time to decide whether to pay for your order or not. So you had a scenario where people made orders using the pay later option months ago, thinking they'd have longer to pay for it, and no "grandfathering" of those last pay later orders under the old policy, which understandably frustrated a lot of people.

Additionally, though may web exclusives now no longer offer the pay later (well, until the deadline comes up) option, some still have (typically the less popular stuff), so there have still been some inconsistencies of regarding listings. Bandai's also started upping the order deadline from three months before release to four months for the March and April exclusives; that's not something NY can control, but you'll still only get a week or so from when the order deadline is announced to when NY wants you to pay.

Regarding the actual service, they can be a bit slow to process orders out the door but are generally reliable and not known for shorting orders (hello, HLJ) or crappy packaging that leads to damaged items. This change in how web exclusives are handled is leading a lot of people to look elsewhere for a source to middleman exclusives from.

Damn, you got him already? Mine shipped the day it came out, but still hasn't entered the country...

Which means I won't get it until next week when I return from vacation. :/

After seeing the movie, the SHF really doesn't look good. The hood is just horrible.

The hood looks fine to me, especially compared to the cloth crap.

Looks like my Kylo and his FO Trooper buds won't getting to me until after Christmas. Still hasn't hit JFK customs yet. Maybe Saturday...

Yeah, this is pissing me off. I paid for EMS to get the product in 3 days and it hasn't even left Japan yet even though it was shipped out 2 nights ago.

Got my Star Wars figuarts from AmiAmi. Haven't opened up the Stormtroopers, but I did get to open up Kylo Ren and Vader. Nothing good I can say about these two.

Maybe he doesn't like how inaccurate and limited by giant plastic clothing they both are?

IDK about accuracy. I never really studied what they looked like on screen.

As for limited by giant plastic clothing, yes. You can remove Kylo's legs and he'll still be standing fine because of the stiff pieces of clothing.

Messed with the Stormtrooper. Definitely loving this figure. Looks great, good articulation. I like what they did with the shoulder pads and ab crunch. Being able to extend the legs down would've been nice. I have three of these, but I'm gonna see if I can get a few more when I head overseas.

They look far nicer than any cloth would do. Plus, they are as on screen accurate as they can get.

I was never a huge fan of Star Wars but I recently watched all the films in preparation for the Force Awakens. I'm hoping Bandai makes a Rey figure. She was my favourite character from the new film.

So, which Figuarts versions of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Leia Organa would you guys buy? IV, V or VI? Or all of the above?

I kinda feel like going ANH for Luke and Solo but TESB for Leia. That outfit is more action-y.

On an additional note: Which Obi-Wan?
