Oh believe me, a lot of people are very vocally critical about Corporations and their modern practices, we're just powerless to do anything about it in modern society's system aside from "voting with your dollar", and even then there's bail-outs, and I'll stop there so this doesn't go over into politics.
Yeah, I agree with those points. In the end, if you don’t like any practice by a person or company, don’t support them. But I know it can be a lot harder not to support a company when these days, they are so wide spanning and we’ve become dependent on them for almost everything. It does annoy me that these corporations can’t even do what they are “supposed” to do right even though the only thing they are supposed to do is make money.
Especially with the megacorps owning so much so you can’t escape them. Would be exhausting to try I imagine.
Um, huh?? When did I say anything about me selling things? Technically, perhaps, but I maintain that the guy driving 1 mph over the speed limit isn't the same as the guy going 50 mph over. Mind you, I don't concede that someone turning an item around for a modest profit is doing something immoral, unethical, or otherwise wrong. Not in so many words, but the term scalper is a pejorative, and in this community it's a pretty strong one. I think most members of the community would consider 'scalper' to be synonymous with most insults. Tangentially, and this isn't a gotcha, what about selling an new-ish item for msrp plus tax? It's charging more than retail, but if not then the seller takes a loss on what they paid.
Laissez fair until it directly affects them I guess. It is what it is personally. Scalpers are a thing legitimately, but I don't find myself upset with them. Like @Icebot said, most people are running a side hustle of some kind for various reasons in today's market. You either choose to pay scalper prices or you don't. I'd be willing to wager the people who complain about scalpers have cashed in once or twice themselves. And don't even get me started on the people that think selling items that are no longer available at retail (and haven't been for a long time) from your personal collection and not selling them at or below their previous MSRP are also scalpers.
Not in any words. This seems to be more and issue for he pollution if societal “justice” trends that wants to brand anyone we disagree with as some evil word to win arguments. If people think scalper is a dirty word and makes them bad people then don’t scalp. If you don’t care then you do you. Of course that wouldn’t be scalping. I pick up stuff for friends for cost plus shipping all the times. Cost includes the taxes you paid for the item. That’s doing people a favor at no gain to yourself. No one would consider that scalping/flipping.
Lol, tell the folks in the GI Joe Classified thread that scalpers aren't bad people, that the term is just a label born from the desire to win a disagreement. I'll bring popcorn. I agree on this.
Some post about someone giving away his cursed golden frieza set off an argument about the the history of eBay, pros and cons of capitalism, various quotations from dictionaries and how to sustain world peace….
That matches my recollection of the sequence of events. Ironically, world peace was the easiest thing to sort out.
we aren't all bad, heck most aren't bad, frustrated, like when a DBZ Figuart sells out in secs, i've watched people in here lose their ish, now idk which is worse, only having to deal with online or being able to walk into a store secs late with no true online release? anyways what's taking bandai so long to announce Kid Trunks and Goten sheesh i'll literally feel complete with those 2 in SSJ1 form in my collection turning any other SSJ1 into bonus despite U6 Saiyans start at SSJ2.....weird
No reveals unfortunately, but recently, the official Dragon Ball site uploaded a video tutorial from some Bandai employees on creating dioramas. Specifically in this case, one of the surface of Planet Namek to go alongside the new Namek Bulma! Honestly this was pretty interesting, considering it was kind of a behind the scenes thing rather than a completely homebrew end-consumer diorama that most are familiar with.
I mean, I don’t expect anything to ship on time from them anymore. Everything seems to get bumped back a month (at least).
