Kabuto still had the hilarious pinheads, it was Den-O that was the first to get rid of them and stick to the base helmet design instead. LOL, it's not all bad, my first figure of this variety was SH Den-O Sword Form. As in, Souchaku Henshin. I've watched the SH Figuarts line from its inception... beautiful.
Man, I don't really like his character much (which I think was the point) so not sure I'd want this figure but I have been really enjoying the show. Also I agree, both the masked and unmasked headsculpts are very bad which adds to the hesitation to buy. Haha. Looks like he is a Sep 2021 Web Exclusive release for 8800 yen: INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING AVAILABLE|こどもから大人まで楽しめるバンダイ公式ショッピングサイト
Good Lord that head looks so bad. $88 for that? Both Legends figures, the black suit and Walmart exclusive, have better heads than this
I can't believe how expensive these Figuarts are now. Like $85 cannot be just retail for that Walker Cap figure without anything else. A couple years ago when they had to include rocks or explosions to bring it up to $80; at least you could've said "those are effects that sell for $20-25". Now just a couple hands and usually one headsculpt painted twice with different looks? I still hate most Marvel Legends bodies but their face paint have improved so much meanwhile Figuarts went in some weird direction and everyone looks like they're wearing makeup.
Man why is it that Bandai always gives Cap terrible build/proportions. I don’t necessarily know how he looks in the show in terms of bulk, since I’m not watching it, but it falls in line with the rest of the Caps that Bandai has solicited in the past and it’s very lackluster to the point of waiting for the Mafex if they have any interest at tackling it.
I normally hate SHF faces, but this one seemed not as horrible to me. The shield bounding off the ground effect is also pretty slick. Definitely not buying, but I hope that idea shows up in other places.
The proportions on John Walker are a mess with that high waist, scrawny upper torso, and noodle arms. The unmasked head looks nothing like the actor to me.
I think that shield ground effect first came with the Cap Vs Cap version of Captain America and it is pretty cool. I hadn't even noticed anything really wrong with his proportions until you mentioned those. lol. Definitely gonna be one that I wait and see if his price drops after release on Mandarake or something.
It'a amazing how they can already have a Marvel figure ready to show off just weeks after the characters introduction but it would take them like 3 years to release a Toku hero that has been around for decades.
