Dang, that's a little harsh. I assume it's to capitalize on the popularity. I wonder if figma will do some Jujutsu Kaisen figures as well.
Hmm, I think I am happy with my decision to pass on this set. lol. The face sculpt does look a bit better with the glasses on though. Mark I is all I need. haha
I swear their face printing like 4 years ago was better than it is now. What's going on with their stuff? It's so over done like heavy makeup. The set still looks pretty awesome though lol.
Harsh, but I get it. I've been watching the anime and it's okayish. Like... a good way to pass time if I'm bored kind of anime, but not something I'm in any particular hurry to catch the new episodes. As such I don't really have any interest in $50+ action figures from it.
What the...!? Hahahahahahahahaha this the "drac queen make up" version instead of Tony Stark. As I said dozens of times, Figuarts don't know how to make realistic figures... The last Loki "sexy looking" and now Tony "Frankfurt lips".
I wonder if they lost some designer or engineer. They've also been using those hideous round joints more often in elbows and knees.
No need to be a dick about it. That said, the main characters of a long running shoenen jump manga / hyped new show make more sense than barely active side characters from something more established... The mini chiaotsu that came with Tien was just fine for a character that did damn near nothing in both DragonBall+ DBZ .... and he's getting a new articulated figure. Same with Burter, who was the forgettable nobody of the Ginyu team. Recome had his moment crushing Gohan/being defeated by an arriving Goku. Jayce was the one with personality. Guido had an interesting power. Burter was just...there. Existing to complete a set
Just curious, but you prefer the ugly 5-piece SHF joints on Rider/Ultraman etc? If so, why? I think the round joints look better on realistic figures since they are smooth and don't break up the visual as much.
Burter is actually my favorite out of the Ginyu Force. Coolest looking design (imo) and I love how he seems blissfully unaware of the fact that he isn't actually the fastest in the universe despite working under Frieza and King Cold.
I'm glad Bandai is doing jujutsu kaisen figuarts early so as the series progresses and more folks get interested they have some solid action figures to pick up right away instead of waiting X amount of years for good figures. They seem to be doing the same push for another upcoming anime Back Arrow. Perhaps Bandai also saw the runaway success of Demon Slayer and had to place their bets on the next hot property.
Figma appears to be dipping into Demon Slayer. It's unlikely the figure lisencing is available to anyone else.
GSC (figma) and Aniplex ([BUZZmod.]) are doing 1/12 scale action figures with Aniplex being ahead by 3 (or 4 if you want to include Kyujuro's tease)
Yeah, I do prefer that style of joint. I realize it's opinion, but to me, on that suit body especially, the spherical joints really stick out. But I'm probably wrong in that they're using it more, because on the tank-top torso, the arms are using the elbow joint that they used on the Freddie Mercury. Compare that to the earlier Tony Stark figure from Iron Man 3... And compare the suit body to the 1st Freddie Mercury... Let's say that joint design is still inconsistent.
In the case of Back Arrow, it's being made by the crew that created Code Geass and one of the creators of Gurren Lagaan. Bandai probably just expects a winner, with their track record.
Saw the Back Arrow stuff. Honestly those alone have me interested in this. Not to forget we have that one chick with wonderful... hair. Not gonna lie, her hair is looking fucking fly, haha. TF you think I was gonna say? The main bot itself looks awesome, as well. I'm a sucker for blue, haha.
