Ugh. Sadly I'm not really a fan of this. They chose the most boring, predictable mold possible (was hoping for the Runamuck/Runabout mold), made the blue (IMO) too light, and... is that even a purple Autobot symbol? I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt that it is light, metallic lavender, but in a couple shots it looks more silver. Surely they will get that right in the end, though, you can't have an SG release without a color-swapped symbol. I still preordered it, because I'm a sucker for SG, but I'm pretty tired of that little partsforming Cliffjumper mold and it's annoying giant ski-bazooka. Sigh. On a positive note, the black and gold DO look very nice together. It's a good gold.
I haven't been paying attention to the silhouettes up until now, I understand that Jetfire is supposed to be next, but the silhouette they are showing doesn't look anything like Jetfire. Is it just a generic placeholder or are we getting someone different?
If I had to guess, the reason Goldbug isn't a VW is the same reason Bugbite wasn't. VW refuses to let its cars be used for evil characters. I imagine Hasbro's hands were tied on this. On the plus side, an eventual good guy Goldbug shouldn't face such constrictions.
well, that silhouette is 100% Sideswipe som if it is indeed who it is supposed to be then I would say were getting SG Sideswipe... which was the #1 SG figure I wanted from the very beginning.
Thank goodness all these sg repaints are horrible, like a blind person chose two colors and slapped it on. SG has so much potential but it’s all about the color schemes and head sculpts. Make megaton look heroic, make optimus look evil.
oh geez that is hideous. Lamest one yet. That head sculpt is really poor and the body needed some blue on it like the original had to make if feel less out of place. Some yellow on the chest would help too, the color breakup is super weird. Overall, was hoping they used the SS86 Hot Rod mold instead.
Well that is sideswipe .... the head part gives it away that its sideswipe and not red alert..... but i dont know if thats next or just upcoming
not the biggest fan....purely cause of mold choice done did to death, imho sideswipe (while done did to death as well) would have been better someone said runamuck/runabout--i hadn't thought of that, but i honestly could see that as a really good one
To each his own! On Hasbro Pulse they had a lineup of the SG figs on Goldbug's page and there was a ??? marked silhouette for the final figure and it was the Sideswipe mold.
I don\'t know how to feel about this guy. I do like the color scheme, but the head looks a bit off to my eyes(I don\'t know why; it is the right head), and $29.99 is really cutting it close. I\'m probably still gonna get it, but I do feel like we\'re not getting our money\'s worth as much as I feel we are with the other SG figures. (I also kinda wish HasTak used the VW mold for this guy, but that\'s not the end of the world for me)
