SG Goldbug isn’t G1 Goldbug though. With Shattered Glass there is also sometimes a change of vehicle mode too but not always. SG Galvatron became a rescue helicopter for example. I would expect SG Bumblebee to be a straight repaint of a Bumblebee toy, but they were right to mix things up for Goldbug.
True…but a lotta sg molds were recolors of their exsisting normal counter parts. Just feel that if its a reverse of goldbug it should be a true reverse. Itd be like making reverse flash hot neon pink and green instead of yellow and red trim.
I would have preferred the VW Bug mold (as with Bugbite) But in my honest Opinion, it took the financial power of both Netflix and Walmart combined to pay the VW licensing fee and make that retool happen. You probably wont ever see that VW mold used again unless its Bumblebee and its an exclusive for something big. Sucks, but highly likely. But at least the robot mode body looks like Goldbug's body, unlike Cybertron Hot Shot.
That is a placeholder silhouette which all the SG figures have had until they were revealed. It's a silhouette of Sideswipe, but we're not getting Sideswipe, we're getting Jetfire next. They used this same silhouette of Sideswipe for the Galactic Odyssey collection, and we never got that mold from that collection.
When SG was introduced all 5 characters had the exact same mold silhouette. That silhouette is Siege Sideswipe and is only a place holder silhouette . We were told by multiple leakers the last SG figure in the capsule will be SG commander class Jetfire. Also, when Amazon Galactic Odyssey was introduced all the silhouettes shown was Siege Sideside and Sideswipe didn't show up in any of the Galactic Odyssey sets. edit: seconds late behind arkindotway
I am slightly disappointed the the head is the only new part he got. No new weapons. No spoiler attachment to homage the Cybertron figure. Just the head.
Teeeeeechnically also got the faction symbol on his chest, something neither ER Cliffjumper or WFC Bumblebee got…
So far, Deluxes only get new heads (Blurr and Goldbug), voyagers only get new weapons (Megatron and Starscream).
there's gotta be some word that describes a mindset where you could easily find out the real answer to something with no more than a little reading, but you don't feel like it because that seems like a lot of effort
Honestly, as long as it gets the faction swap mechanic, I don’t really care. I missed out on Jetfire, but it was because I had to choose between him or the magnificence that is the humble Sky Lynx…
I'm not gonna expect anything new, just to avoid disappointed in the off chance he doesn't, but I think it's safe to assume he'll have something. Possibly a new head maybe a new set of armor to replace his original set. But if I had to bet, I'd say maybe he'll get the arm blade from the Netflix show. It was a pretty notable weapon in the series which he uses quite a bit. I'm sure Hasbro is aware of how popular an accessory that'd be.
