Yeah, saw this posted at CBR. I'm not even reading JLD, but this sounds pretty cool, especially Del Toro potentially being attached.

If true, it's good to see WB/DCE is serious about getting their characters on the big screen.

Awesome. Hell I'd settle for GTD to do a Spectre movie.

If this has Etrigan or Dr. Fate in it, I must see it.

I don't even want to think of what I'd do if it had both of them in it.

Hard to say how this will turn out. Could be crazy cool.

But given DC's rather spotty track record of even managing one superhero in their movies, suddenly a whole team of them that the average joe neither knows nor cares about?

    Could also be completely awful.

I can't imagine they can dedicate too much of the movie to origin stories, but characters like Swamp Thing, Etrigan and Deadman probably need them for the average movie-goer to be able to appreciate what they're all about. And then that just makes it sound like it'll be a hot mess of a film.

Guillermo del Toro To Helm A DC Movie Featuring SWAMP THING, DEADMAN, ZATANNA And More

This sounds epic, like a DC, supernatural form of THE AVENGERS. Which might be a problem: most of these characters would need their own film perhaps to act as a suitable background for them before they can all appear together. Or perhaps it's an inverse process like X-Men: do them all at once, then devote a prequel to each member.

Either way, I wish del Toro the best of luck. And I've always had a thing for Zatanna (her magician's outfit was my first ever fetish :D ) so I hope seeing her in live-action in a film will be a great success.

So does Bruce Timm. So he got married to a magician.

I'd love a Justice League Dark movie. I really expected to hate that comic, but it's been a nice surprise.

With a lesser director, I'd expect the result to be garbage along the lines of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen movie. But with Del Toro at the helm, it's almost guaranteed to be good.

I think you're thinking of Paul Dini...

Timm seems to like Zatanna a lot, too. Maybe he has a thing for Dini's wife.

Obnoxious Pro-tip: Bruce Timm drew stuff, Paul Dini wrote stuff.
    (In general.) :)

That's Paul Dini not Bruce Timm.

I don't know anything about JLD, but if they go for this vibe I could see them calling this movie Dark Justice. Either way, bring it on.

I have faith in Del Toro, but i'll believe this movie is happening when I see a trailer.

Yeah, it almost sounds too good to be true.

Love Del Toro's enthusiasm for this project and the fact that he really loves and knows these characters. Also, kudos to WB for possibly holding onto Del Toro a bit longer -- if they're smart, they'll try to keep him on WB projects and away from Marvel/Disney.

Just a thought: is there a chance for Keanu Reeves to return as Constantine?
