My friend Setheus Prime brought you his interpretation of movie-verse Badass Scientist and Wrecker Wheeljack:

The wrecker started off as a Crosshairs figure that had his head removed and replaced with RotF Dunerunner head.

Paint include black primer base with a boltgun metal wash. Detailed him and gave him a G1-esque paintjob with a darker red and green. This version of Wheeljack is an homage to his G1 and TFP counterparts.

It was not a pleasant process for SP to work on this mold due to the paint issues. And he wasn't 100% happy with the result. He might revisit this project in the future.

Please tell SP what you think!

I dig this. You could have the trenchcoat the mold has and make it more into a labcoat.

We didn't think of that! The coat was hidden to show the torso detailing, but I'll upload pics with the coat on soon!

nice work, i think the colour scheme works especially well in robot mode and the head is a great choice, the paint in vehicle mode seems a bit thick in application tho.

btw hey just to clarify this isn't some gollum/smeagol thing going on here is it?

Agreed, the vehicle mode paint is a tad too chunky. I've worked with white before, and it's probably the nastiest colour to paint with. That said, this custom looks quite good.

I know right! SP was considering doing another one but using grey instead.

whites actually workable just sand before applying, also i dunno but looks like you used citadel paints? yeah they say the foundation paints cover in one layer but just use really thin multiple coats, also for some reason i find starting with a grey base for white works better but I'm not sure if this is entirely proven. white paint tends to clump and be thicker than normal. lightly sand with a high grit sandpaper between coats and you should be ok. good luck
