Series you wish they'd make games of already...

We've all had a moment where we were reading a book/comic, watching a movie/show, and we either thought to ourselves: "why haven't they made a game out of this?" Or, "why haven't they made a GOOD game out of this?" This topic is to share your ideas, hopes, dreams, and desires--mostly ideas.

I personally have two series I wish they'd make games of: TMNT and Superman.

When I heard that rumor of Rocksteady Games making a TMNT game, I was ecstatic; I hadn't played a good Turtles game since Turtles in Time, and to hear one of my favorite, reputable, game studios making a new Turtles game seemed too good to be true. Unfortunately we all know that it was, however the ideas I played around with, truly makes me wish we had a good modern Turtles game.

With the theme being a combination between the Classic show and the Mirage comics, I'd like to imagine it would be a free-roam sandbox (similar to Arkham City), with an extraordinary amount of detail given to NYC. Think about it, you could either accept a mission to stop the Foot in the Central Park Zoo, brawl at the piers, or the top of the Empire State building! Actual gameplay control would be similar to InFamous--you have free reign to go wherever the hell you want. Each Turtle has a unique ability and stat perks (Raph is strongest but slowest, Mikey is fastest but weakest etc), and can "level up" to gain more techniques and weaponry. As the game progresses you gain vehicles like the Turtle Van and the Blimp for faster travel. The sewers would have a 3-fold purpose--switching between Turtles, quick travel, and further exploration. And lastly, 4 player co-op, local and online of course.

Superman...I guess it's because I've been watching Bruce Timm shows lately, maybe it's because I realize the Man of Steel has never had a good game--either way, I think he's overdue for one. This is one I'm having trouble thinking of though--how do you make a good Superman game?

The only two ways I can think of are--

    A) Strip Superman of his powers, and gradually regain them, while doing what you can to protect Metropolis from recognizable villains and catastrophe.

    B) Universal sandbox. The universe is your bitch. Fly (or quick travel) to planets in distress, protect Earth, something similar to Mass Effect. Problem with this route is, would anyone be willing to invest in a Superman game this huge?

Anyways, this is the end result of my boredom (next Friday can't come soon enough), but I'd love to hear what ideas you all have--sound off!

Honestly? Firefly would be good. A Privateer/Elite type game set in their universe and picking different characters plays the game differently.

That Superman Returns game tie-in had the right idea, but piss poor execution.

Make a game where Superman has full access to all his powers, and has no health bar. Instead, Metropolis has the health bar. As the player you have to find interesting ways to stop all manner of foes without destroying the city. Sure, you can ram Darkseid into the ground at near the speed of light, but if you leave the city a smoldering crater at the same time, you get a game over.

And what the Returns game was lacking was good deformable terrain and building destruction. When Metallo flings you into the air, you should be worried about blowing out a main support on the building you just hit. And if it starts coming down, you have to grab it and push it back up. That kind of thing.

    ^ I like that idea.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Not sure how well they could do it, without being a "Street of Rage" type of game.

Thundercats...the 80s look. There were lots of creatures on Third Earth to fight besides the Mutants, Mumm-Ra, Safari Joe, etc.

A modern take on the old NES game Silent Service. Anyone else remember that game?

I'd really like a Daredevil game like Arkham Asylum/City. Kingpin being the main antagonist with free-roaming through Hell's Kitchen stopping petty crooks and villains like Bullseye and the Enforcers, some cameos/team-ups with the likes of Spider-Man, the Heroes for Hire, and the Punisher, and throw in some Elektra gameplay with some assassinations or something for the hell of it.

A Speed Racer game that lets you use all of the Mach 5's gadgets (and lets you use villain cars that also have weapons).

YES! I can see myself getting so addicted to that. It should also have both single-player and multiplayer modes.

The idea about the Superman game that gives Metropolis a health bar is great too. I'm not much of a Superman fan, but I'd definitely want to play that.

That's one of those ideas that sounds great on paper, but anything short of perfection would turn it into a frustrating wreck.

A bit too much friendly fire, too agressive AI, bad targetting, or anything, and what you'd likely end up with is the worst escort mission ever.

    Deapool. Oh. Wait.

No, actually, Iron Man. To some level of epic awesomeness and style as the Arkham games.

    TMNT.

When I heard Rocksteady was making a TMNT game, I was hyped. I imagined it would be a co-op game, with an Arkham style of fighting(X to strike, Y to counter) but more complicated and with more combos. Then the rumor turned out to be false.

But man, I really wish they were actually making that game.

Babylon 5, likely a space combat game, with sections where you get to explore the station

Judge Dredd, Open world world-action game, where you get handed crimes to stop as you explore the city on the Justice-cycle

Bionicle, I could imagine it being a good RPG set years after Mata Nui and Teridaxs fight, where you choose your power/ elemental faction, and over the course of the game choose wether you want be good or evil.

I know we have the War for Cybertron series already, but I think a cell-shaded TPS Transformer game based on Last Stand of the Wreckers and Roche's art would be awesome!

The game could have an intro stage where you play as Fort Max, various stages where you can pick a different Wrecker of your choice, a stealth stage with Kup and Guzzle down in the cells, and finally a showdown between Springer and Overlord.

I think it'd be fair to say the game should be downloadable only. It seems to me a lot of games created for niche markets are downloadable and seem to do just fine.

Well, GI Joe needs a game. I would like it to be similar to Mass Effect in a couple ways. Not so heavy on story, but in the way that you have a hub, like the joes base, and then you have a team leader like Duke and you take a couple other joes with different expertise, and it plays similar to ME where you can do a lot of 3rd person shooting with a cover system, but you can also use some abilities and give orders to your team.

A good TMNT game would be great, and I would actually like to see it almost... diablo-ish. Ok, not so loot based, but over head with up to 4 players, and you have areas in the sewers, rooftops, city streets and other more outlandish places to kick the crap out of the foot. Unlike the old school beat'em ups, you have a lot of different paths to explore and stats to upgrade and new moves to unlock.

I find the idea of a Superman game to be interesting, but it would have to be with all his powers and freedom to what you want with them, even if it means being bad. The challenge would be in keeping a moral high ground and unraveling a mystery rather then having an energy bar. Maybe a couple fights where soups has the potential to die with bigger bosse, but otherwise you would be invincible.
