Sequels that you think shouldn't have been done, and movies that shouldn't have sequels.
Short Circuit 2 was cute, but not needed. The first movie was awesome just by itself.
    Starsky And Hutch.............................no.

Mortal Kombat deserved a sequel...but not what they produced.

Cats & Dogs 2 (though you could argue the same for the first one)
    Baby Geniuses 2 (as above!)
    All Resident Evil sequels
    Saw 3 onward
    Superman 3 & 4
    Batman Forever/Batman & Robin

    Final Destination 3-5

Okay, so we got/will get some interesting deaths out those ones, but from a story standpoint. they weren't necessary.

    Cars 2.
    Cats and Dogs 2
New Moon, Eclipse (though the same can be said about the original film)
Monsters, Inc. 2. Not to say the original was bad, but it ended so sweetly with Sulley smiling, it doesn't need a sequel.

Every Highlander movie after the first one. If all of your sequels have to ignore the previous ones, you know you're doing something wrong.

Every Halloween aside from 1 and 2
    Most Friday the 13th movies
    Alien 3 - ???
    Scary Movie
    Every "Movie" movie
    X Men 3, Origins
    Monsters Inc.
    Cars 2
    Cat and Dogs 2
    And more I'm probably forgetting.

To make an SNL reference here, I'll take Movies That Start With The Word 'Jaws' For $400, Alex.

Seriously, they were just the same three-word plot over and over again (shark-eats-people), only with exponentially cheaper FX (not to mention shoddier--there's the retractable-headed baby shark in J3, and by the time of J:TR you can friggin' see the submerged apparatus used to operate the shark in a lot of the underwater scenes) and exponentially-cartoonish circumstances (a thirty-foot great white gets itself trapped in a high-profile marine park under the watchful eyes of ever media outlet in Florida and somehow nobody notices for, what, two or three days? And that's BEFORE we got the one that follows a whole family all the way to the Bahamas...).

Even by cheesy killer fish movie standards, Jaws 3 and 4 were terrible, and they were made by a major Hollywood studio instead of the usual knockoff-making cheapie independent. And on that note, half the ripoffs I've seen were more amusing, and that's just for their sheer gall alone.

Nobody's mentioned Robocop 3 yet? The second one was okay as a sequel, but the third...well, it makes RotF look like a Shakespearian masterpiece in comparison in all fields.

    Also on the list:
-Any potential sequel to M. Night's Avatar (do I need to explain this one?)
-Indana Jones and Sam Witwicky vs. the Soviets (A.K.A. "Kingdom of the Crystal Skulled Aliens")
-The Matrix II and III (I haven't seen all of either movie, but what little I have is proof enough of the suckage)
-Most of the Friday the 13th sequels
    -Lion King 1 1/2

I agree on RC3. I hated his jet-pack thing as it made the show more un-realistic.
Charlies Angels should never had had a sequel as the first one sucked anyway. Sure the three actresses were cute, but they were no match to the classics. That, and it was just plain stupid and utterly fake.

Michael bay's transformers 1 and 2? Man those movies suck enormous amount of a#* They are embarrasments to true TF fans everywhere, theyr're not just bad transformers movies, they're just bad movies, even the 1980's cartoon had a more serious tone!

Godfather Part 3? Part one was a masterpiece, part 2 arguably, if possible, even better, 3 ,what hell happened there?

The Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions? the matrix in my opinion set the standard for sci-fi movies, not only were the effects at that time very impressive but it actually had a very good story and interesting characters to go with it, not to mention the awesome nokia banana phone! mna was i dissapointed when reloaded came out, it was so bad I still havent seen reloaded till this very day!

Superman 3? So bad words can't describe it. I actually prefer 4 which held in less regard by critics!

I generally can't get too worked up about sequels (they're easy enough to ignore), and never understood the whole "tehy tainted teh first mvoie and ruined it FOREVER" thing...or the idea that, because one story ends, the characters should never be used again. But, for the sake of 'post count +1', some films where I didn't enjoy the sequel very much or the felt the original movie wasn't good enough to justify coming back to that "world":

    - Star Wars 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, counting 4 as the 'original'
    - Superman 2, Superman Returns (didn't see 3 or 4)
    - Terminator: Salvation
    - Spider-Man 3
    - Indiana Jones 2 (ToD) and 4 (KotCS)
    - Narnia 2 (subtitle escapes me...Prince Caspian?)
    - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3
    - X-Men 2 and 3
