That is true, but let's not forget that Hasbro also has a certain movie Decepticon, named Brawl who people are arguing and bickering over endlessly. And that's between the movie and the toy. Much like this Sentinal topic.
when did hasbro confirm his name was Sentinel Prime? cause so far, he hasnt been refered to as such, and like someone said, the credits merely call him Sentinel-does anyone know what they call Optimus Prime in the animated credits?
Would could just wait till: 1 he shows up more in the show 2 hasbro talks about him at botcon 3 we get pics of his toy in package. edit: and the whole "Has there ever been ore than one prime at the same time" argument doesn't hold up well, as the name/rank of "Prime" doesn't seem to carry as much gravity in animated as in previous continuities.
I second Silent Magnus. Definitely, TFA 'Prime', I'm reckoning, is a pretty gangsta rank to have, but several can hold it, including Brad and Optimus. Hence, my question as to whether 'Ultra' or 'Magnus' is a signifier of a rank above Prime and, if so, which would it be? All the back'n'forth about which Japanese continuity did what with which emperor on what planet seems to be depriving us of much-needed fun and sunshine away from the internet...
After reading your thread and this post in particular I went looking for any offical sources on wether he has been offically called "Sentinel Prime" anywhere. Now so far I've found nothing from Hasbro [ I'll keep looking ] but I did find something on the TF Animated "Cartoon Network"'s online site. Its a complete list of all characters to appear on the show. Here's the list http://www.transformersanimated.com/transformers-characters.php And here's Sentinel Prime's page http://www.transformersanimated.com/transformers-animated-sentinel-prime-character.php Now I know its not a Hasbro site but it is a official source and at the very least proof that it was the intention from Hasbro that the character be officially called Sentinel Prime. Why they havent done so in an episode yet could be ether they shorten it to make it eazy on them or as to not confuse the younger fans. Could be they changed their minds on calling him "Prime" as well.
What do you mean "How"??? Its an official Cartoon Network site. The show is co-produced in junction with the Cartoon Network.
It's a fan-site owned by transformers @ the moon. I visit the site often just because it has all of the animated news in one spot, but I am slightly angry with it. As I was fooled into thinking it was an official site until someone pointed out this at the bottom of the page.
Well, the only time we've really seen Sentinel is (excluding the 3 parter) when they were cadets, and probably hadn't gotten the job that gives him the Prime denotation. Prime doesn't carry all of the weight of G1 or other continuities, which is fine, given that it's a different continuity with its own rules. And isn't the thing about prime being supreme commander and decepticons having emperor of destruction rendered moot with Ultra Magnus being the supreme commander in Animated?
Well for all you guys questioning wether Sentinal would be call Prime and looking for an offical source.......
maybe its just his super inflated ego and he legally changed his name to sentinel prime who knows but i will still refer to him as sentinel prime
Maybe he got the title "Prime" after he made a certain rank in the academy. Perhaps Optimus made it that far before he washed out, as well. Prime may well be a title in this universe, rather than a name.
Seems that is the answer.According to today's episode Optimus and Sentinel are both at the rank of "Prime".
