It's obvious that the very minor differences between his appearance on the Moon and on Earth after he's revived were half-ass attempts by ILM to rationalize the otherwise overall similarity between his appearance before and afterward. It's way too convenient that he had those circular place-holders for the wheels, as well as the red coloring and window-shields on his chest before he took on his vehicle mode.

 

I dunno, I'd love a Space Fire Truck.... that's be pretty awesome. I see Japanese episode title: Fighting the Fires Of Space! Go Sentinel Convoy!

 

Maybe he put out fires back on Cybertron?

 

He was gold/silver in the movie trailers though.

So I guess Sentinel is the only TF in the movies to have a non-protoform Cybertronian form and an Earth form besides Megatron.

Of course, but I wouldn't call it half-assed. It's way better than his apparently having wheels and human lettering on his body before ever getting to Earth.

And why wouldn't he look similar before and after scanning a vehicle mode? Megatron is not too different between his ROTF and DOTM bodies not counting the damage he took.

Considering the time spent in his Cybertronian form is better measured in seconds, not minutes, I think it's nice they added that little touch.

No he didn't. Those Barricade cars never went to any sets, they were merely props being transported to otehr warehouses, probably to make room.

And no offense to Mike, but his attempts at covering stuff up are far from genius. ("Megatron is never coming back" he says right next to a large ROTF cutout of Megs and some concept art) Even when he does do a decent job keeping things like Sentinel's betrayal secret, stuff like online comics go and spoil it.

from your post, now, we can think that in the movieverse, there was no Rosenbauer fire truck that looked like sentinel's alt mode, it was basically his cybertronian alt mode customized and suited (by adding firetruck things and details here and there, and well, the earth wheels) to made it looked like earth vehicle.

Why was there a fire truck on planet cybertron?
Why did a prime want to be a fire truck as his alt mode on his own planet?
Why did transformers need alt modes on their planet (whereas they didn't need to hide their existence)?

 

Vehicle modes are a handy way to get around quickly.

 

Fixed, remember we saw Soundwave Cybertronian alt mode in ROTF
