Now as some of you know in the 1st trailer of Dark of the Moon Sentinel Prime was gold, but in the movie and in the toy's he is red and black. Now after seeing the movie and the trailer again I have seen some more changes.
In the trailler Sentinel look's a lot bigger and bulker and his face look's older in the trailer, but in the movie Sentinel look's a lot thiner and look's a bit less old looking and his paint job look's a lot shinery and look's like a he is a brand new bot.

Does anyone know why this happen as I alway's wanting to know why the change happen? Even when I saw the movie for the 1st time I thought I saw the changes.

 

Well probably not to hint who really was gonna be a big character in the movie plus that was his cyvertronion mode, and he didn't scan a red vehicle yet..........I think

 

Because his Cybertronian mode was red and they didn't want to give the Fire Truck's identity away?

 

He was red on the Ark aswell so that could have not been his cybertronion mode

 

Oh he was? I was going by the trailer because he was silver and gold

 

I noticed the color aswell his helmet in the trailer was mostly gold

 

They probably just hadn't finalized his color scheme/alt mode when that trailer was made. They probably wanted to show him off in some capacity though so they did him up in gold and rendered the shot for the trailer.

Yes this could be turn. but what I want to know is that why was he gold in the trailer and red in the movie. If they did it so ppl wont know who he is then why did they say who it was hour's after the trailer had air?

If Bay does a Q and A I would love to ask him that. also I like the gold a lot more then the red to the pont where I want Japan or Hasbro to do a gold repaint for there new movie line.

 

Perhaps they felt that since he only remained in his Cybertronian form for two scenes making him gold seemed pointless, and may have felt it would have confused the audience when he's all of a sudden red later.

 

First, trailers may get released before scenes are finally fully completed, so the color change could've happened due to that.

On what people aren't commenting on, the fact he looks younger: in G1 (& one of the movies did show this to be the case w/ a little Decepticon that was ripped in 1/2), scanning a new altmode mode can fix some things as he is reconfigured.

The color is more likely from them rushing the scene out... It could also be Bay trolling us to think it was Unicron initially.

Well, there was a lot of talk that it might be Unicron, because of the trailer & the Gold color.

 

With Blue Optics?

 

Noone was talking about the optics (well, a few did use them as a counter argument) . It was all "he's gold, has a beard, he looks like Unicron". A few were saying it could be Alpha Trion. Go find the early DotM threads about it.

He was gold in the trailer because they didn't want to reveal who he was. If they made him red, everyone would know who he was and probably discern the main twist of the movie (his betrayal) by looking for a red alt mode that wasn't Optimus's or Mirage's. And when he was on the Ark, he hadn't scanned his Earth Alt Mode yet, so we can safely say his Cybertronian Alt Mode was red.
