Shout out to @Oreo Bot for suggesting to rework the rear tires so that they actually spin . I was really gunshy on doing it much like I was on my Siege custom. But I decided to go ahead and do it as it would also give me a chance to give him the correct eight wheel format instead of four. That, and his front tires and upcoming trailer all have working wheels. Thanks sir for the kick in the butt. :)

Just a quick update. Took another stab at the legs. I didn't realize just how much height I lost on the first take by trimming the thigh length down until I took pics of him. This go around, I took the ER hip sockets from the thighs and embedded them into Seige's upper thighs. He ended up a few slight shades taller than his original height. This time, I didn't have to shave his has tanks either because of the added height.

So I love Earthrise Optimus, how clean he is and how fun/inventive his transformation is but really don't like how plain his lower legs/rear truck looks like (let's not even get into the embedded gas tanks in the thighs). But I love Seige's tanks and lower legs so here we are.

*The backpack is optional and removable. I just really like the top lights from Siege.

Interesting; ER OP needed to have better legs, and this is a good step in the right direction.
Are you planning on continuing work on this guy ?

I would totally do this were the trailer hitch hole not so close to the cab.

Just paint and cleaning up the glue mostly. I couldn't really think of anything else that I really wanted to do to it without it being adding stuff just for the sake of adding it, something I have a really bad habit of doing if you've seen some of my other customs. :D . Sometimes, no needs to be no. Lol

I was thinking I might make a makeshift hitch that can plug into the existing hole that can hitch back to the trailer for clearance. Like an O hitch at each end with a connector between them.

I never really had issues with his vehicle mode but I do agree that this fun little mod does make it look more solid

Although the wheel covers that the siege had kinda throw me off with this, and I don’t see why you needed to include the back kibble from the siege one either.

but thats just me being a nit-picky little shitstain, all in all its a nice execution of the idea

I’m just gonna drop this here, but this was an early version of my attempt at earthifying siege OP a while back. But it is possible to remove the back wheel covers and still have functioning tires, in case you wanna try that out

I was wondering if that would work. I vastly prefer the Seige legs but the battle damage has got to go. It clashes with the clean look of Earthrise

Yeah for sure! Trying to decide between grey legs and waist or white. I've never been the biggest fan of white on toy Op despite being accurate and traditional but the recent 35th anniversary cel-shaded Siege Optimus made me a fan so I am leaning towards white (despite how much of a PITA it is to get right :D ). In any case, that battle damage will be gone.

Now that I think about it, what do y'all think? White waist and legs or grey/gunmetal?

If you are going to be refining this guy, I have a few recomendations.
    - Use Lego™ pieces for shaping. ex. Strip the smokestacks from the shoulders, and replace them with bars that are 3 studs long.
    - Try to use more parts from ER OP for the legs. ex. See if you can remove the wheel sections from the legs; they seem to share the same hinge design as the Siege version, meaning you can just swap them out.
    - See if you can switch the biseps out on ER OP, Siege OP should share those pieces.

for that last point you’ve made, it’s actually a lot simpler just to paint his biceps red since I’ve seen one guy go through hell to do that swap

Update on first post. Take two.

There's slight differences in the legs. They both share the same hinges (which is odd since on ER they don't work) but the joint system is different. If I'd used ER Op's knees for example, I'd lose knee twist. Seige has both hip and knee joints.

I did add in the rear calves section from ER tho' to fill in the rear legs like on ER so thanx for suggesting to use more of ER Op's legs.

Yeah, that's why I didn't want to do it. Too dicey. Plus, I like the biceps being dark. Reminds me of GF Optimus Prime and I've always liked red, white/grey n black for Optimus.

    Thanx sir.

    Good work here sir :thumb

I see some interesting advice in this thread. I'm debating whether or not to paint ER Prime's legs white.

I think ER looks better grey. Seige Op's hips and thighs looks good white because it's closer to G1 Op. But ER is stylized, especially the hips. Something about those hips/pelvis just doesn't seem right white.

Bro-fist! I picked up RiD15 quickchange Op just for having that similar scheme.

Ayyy now thats what I’m talking about! Have you also considered doing the head-switcharoo with the Siege Galaxy Prime’s head? Cus imo that would add a whole lotta spice to this custom

If I did I'd probably do it for something like this:

Just so he can have a regular head and an armored up one. I wrecked my Seige GF Op head tho so I'd have to get another one.

Nice, I was curious if it the leg swap could work after getting my ER Prime. I'll have to try this out for myself.
