I heard about this from Shady Jay game stream from late night game stream. Just like alot of folks said during stream they don't expect it to be a huge announcement and it isn't.
This wasn't the announcement that was being talked about in advance, that was the new distributed/cloud computing scheme for Japanese arcades. People took a tweet from a Japanese writer for a Japanese magazine about something from the Japanese end of a Japanese company that primarily serves the Japanese market and for some reason thought it was going to something big in the context of places that aren't Japan.
Oh, Japan. You're so crazy. On the bright side, this may be in scale with some Transformers if you want to pose them playing.
Oooooooooohhhhh ok i see. I know guys where thinking last night it might be a new console say like a new Sega or something along that line. Hey,....if you can keep me updated cause I'm interested in any of that kind of news. I sub to game informer and checked this morning if anything new on news and just games and normal Xbox,PS5 and the ps5 event cancelled.
Easy pass. Only 4 games each? If there was a dozen or so each i might consider it. Hell i can go to Walmart or Target and get one of those cheap mini players with Burger Time, Bad Dudes, etc on it and have better games than those for less. if it was a modern rechargeable one that also played the old games i'd buy one. But not this.
I wouldn't worry about missing news of Sega being a console platform holder again, they're in the business of steady reliable income thesedays rather then gambling or burning massive piles of money.
I would have been interested since I had a strong attachment to my Game Gear growing up, but the 16 games spread out over 4 different 50 dollar variants and the one accessory only being available in a pack of all of them together make this an easy pass for me. A very easy pass if this never gets licensed for NA (and even then, the NA game selection would have to be stellar or have a massive discount like the PS Classic).
Nowhere near what I'd want out of something like this, it has to at least be big enough for adult hands, should include games from third parties (I want to re-play the Game Gear Jurassic Park game my bro used to own darn it!) and should not cost 50$ unless it can print money too. I'd pay 50$ if it featured at least thirty games, was sized to fit my hands without giving me even worse pains from handheld systems and at least included some overlooked titles from third parties.
Yep and it even goes back a bit further then that in a previous incarnation. Nintendo is 130 years old.
