Ahh geez, who cares. I was one of the ones who said it wasn't, so I was wrong. Jeez, this is becoming the new "Rumble is Blue/Frenzy is blue" crap. Can we jsut end this? They (Hasbro) said they're the same, I (and others were wrong), the rest of you were right. There, can we stop the back and forth? Who cares anyway, in YOUR continutiy, you can believe what you want.

But once again, continuity families are at their root a fan-made concept that's been used to regroup continuities that obviously looked derived from the same base lines. The WfC/Prime situation is different in that the one thing that holds them together in spite of all the contradictions and differing aesthetics is Hasbro's official stance, which is not backed by the facts so far. It's a complete reversal of the purpose of continuity families.

Did any dead Cybertronian come in contact with Dark Energon in WFC?

Live ones. Megatron got a power up. Omega Supreme shut down. There's also that giant mutant spider bot.

In Exodus its like an addiction. When Dark Energon infused soldier dies the DE seeps to the next living DE warrior making him more powerful.

Which have, to be fair, migrated into official fiction with the birth of the "universal stream" concept and the identifiers it uses, which has even been adopted by Japanese authors in their official fiction.

Or rather, the thing that holds them together is that they, along with Exodus, have been created based on the specifications of the new story bible that Hasbro has specifically created for this continuity. Exodus shows us more of WFC's word - a world that contains an ancient spacebridge network that leads to Velocitron and Gigantion, and an AllSpark that brings life to Cybertronians but is launched into space. Things that are not G1.

For one how does Soundwave go from a bad ass looking bot to what seems
to me is a feminine version of his former self in Prime, if WFC is the prequel?
And the bulky Bumblebee and Prime of WFC go to what is clearly a Movie meets
    Animated look?

WFC should be a predecessor to the Generation One line, although
even there are holes there, the game features Characters that didn't exist
on Cybertron during the events of G1's war...

Air Raid, Scattershot, Silverbolt, Trypticon, Breakdown & Dead End, but
Onslaught & Brawl could have been, because in the cartoon, their personality
components were removed from their original bodies...

In-continuity appearance changes are common in Transformers. Just look at Beast Wars and the Unicron trilogy. Even G1 had it.

It could have been a prequel to the comics though.

Oh and the Aerialbots, Technobots, Stunticons and Trypticon were all new creations according the Western cartoon (possibly excluding Trypticon from my list since he existed earlier in the Japanese continuity, but its not clear where he was made or when (his mind anyway))

This doesn't make any sense to me. Unless I don't understand the meaning of "continuity", Megatron already absorbed the Dark Energon in the WFC game back on Cybertron. In the first or second episode of Prime, Megatron absorbed the Dark Energon while on Earth.

    Agree.

While it may seem like I'm defying the "Word Of God" (in this case, Hasbro), this is clearly marketing flim-flam, trying to funnel all their continuity families into one line to make for easier promotion. It doesn't work. I call corporate bullshit on this due to conflict of interests.

Give it up Hasbro. You're a toy company, not storytellers. Continue making awesome toys, and we will forgive you for insulting our intelligence with such a brazen attempt to homogenize your intellectual property for the lowest common denominator (slow kids and fanboys). :lol

I think Hasbro US is lying. There are clearly contradictions between TFP and WFC. Either they're lying or their rep screwed up and the UK rep was right. If they are lying, why? Could it be to throw us off? Or maybe not. Maybe the key words or "aligned continuity" whatever that means.

In the G1 Marvel comics, Jetfire, the Aerialbots and Stunticons were all created on Earth. (The Combaticons and the Protectobots simply show up out of nowhere.)

Dreamwave's comics had their own prequel, "The War Within", which is irreconcilable with WFC as well.

<Hasbro> Dude, those minor details are totally irrelevant. Just buy the toys and enjoy the cartoon.

"Throw us off" from what? This isn't Lost where every in-story discrepancy and seemingly contradictory statement by the showrunners was turned into a conspiracy theory regarding the alleged "master plan" behind the show. ;)

:throw  Just cause Hasbro wants to hammer a square WFC peg, into a round Prime hole, doesn't make it fit. Im going to promptly ignore this news and just go on enjoying WFC and Prime as separate. Unless WTF@TFW(or Moonbase 2, dont remember which) theory is right, and this is a different Optimus, Meg's, and Strascream from WFC; or they all have amnesia

Well, the Exodus story bible is somewhat fine for an Exodus/Prime connection (there's still a number of things that don't match), especially since Exodus doesn't bring aesthetics to the table, but not for WfC, since High Moon stated WfC was their own work which Hasbro then decided, late in the process, to integrate "if and when possible", to future fiction, and never mentioned anything about Hasbro's story bible (and for that matter, Hasbro never mentioned the bible had been used for WfC, only Prime). And it's patently obvious when you play the game, since the characterizations are G1 through and through, with the exception of Barricade for which they mention the movie as an inspiration.
