no way they are in the same continuity, dialogue from the second episode proves they aren't.

Exactly. Starscream wouldn't have said it was of legend. He had a containment field with the stuff in it during WFC.

The only way they can fix this is the all suffered from "space dementia" on the trip over, or certain characters have taken names from the original.

Still doesn't change anything about how elements don't add up at all, and that WFC was clearly designed by High Moon with G1 in the back of their minds, while Prime was designed with the succes of the movies being important.

It's nice that a novel was written and yes, it does seem Hasbro is intending to make one unified continuity - but it still seems obvious to me they started with that idea a bit too late and are now pulling a 'Cybertron' by trying to retcon it all together.

But ah well, everybody should believe what they want to believe, I think. :)

I know it's been confirmed, but I'm gonna call petrified bullshit on this if Trypticon and Omega Supreme don't show up in TF: Prime and/or the corresponding toyline. 'Nuff said. :)

Once again: not literally the same ongoing contiguous singular continuity, but different stories within the same continuity family, or cluster of "universal streams", which are all based on a new story bible Hasbro has produced to shape this new (group of) universe(s).

I'm sure this has been pointed out elsewhere in the thread, but I just find this kind of irritating since one (WFC) is clearly using the G1 family of continuities as it's jumping off point while the other (TFP) is clearly using the Bayverse as it starting point...

Kinda makes me wish that Prime had gone the route Don used on the new IDW book and done a more G1 meets movie aesthetic for the character designs - I think a lot of the issues I had with how Don's designs looked on paper would have been much less of an issue in 3D CG (I.e. Since the face bits could actually move they would have looked less static and un-expressive)

OMG Hasbro UK giving an answer that actually made more sense than the US branch. I've decided that this difference on stance is official. This way, in the UK prime actually makes sense as does WFC, rather than the completely differing continuities that Hasbro US is trying to smoosh together.

Hasbro US is the new Takara. Next they'll be trying to fit this in to G1.

What I have been told is one continuity, the modern continuity, containing these 3 stories. Hasbro does not deal with Universal streams or continuity families. They only deal with, and are concerned with, the modern continuity...

To hell with continuity. As long as there are bots clobbering cons and vice versa, I'm a happy camper!

Why can't they just make WFC and TF:p  different continuities? I mean c'mon! As depicted in TF:p , any dead cybertronian that gets in contact with Dark Energon turns into a zombie, whilst in WFC all they do is create giant spikes and other shiz.

Basically, if you want to believe its the same continuity, then knock youself out. However, Its BLATANTLY obvious they are seperate universes. In WFC, Dark energon is produced and stored in a factory that is overlooked by Starscream before he becomes a Decepticon. In Prime, it is a super rare element that is said to be the blood of unicron, and starscream has only ever heard of it, let alone supervised the production of the stuff.

Forget what hasbro said! Lies, lies, tiny eyes!

Well, I mean, that *is* balls, because there are things in these stories that mean they absolutely cannot co-exist in a singular timeline. Exodus and WFC are notionally the same story, but significantly different in many respects. When, for instance, did Sentinel Prime get captured by the Decepticons - after a failed attempt at protecting the Omega Key when the war was in its dying days, or during a Decepticon ambush at a casino before the war had started? These are not complimentary events.

Huh. Whatever. It's not like Hasbro is going to come to my house and force me to consider it all one continuity. I'll just carry on seeing them as linked but seperate, ta.

Saves a whole load of headache. ;)

The sources they sight are not all mutually compatible as exemplified by the contradictory Videogame's plots.

But some of Megatron's behaviour seems consistent with the Videogames to some extent were as other parts are clearly Movie derived.

But it's relevance or lack of to a soon to be forgotten Videogame is hardly that important anyway.
