Gonna have to go with the Seekers on this one. They're all their own separate characters who all look similar, instead of everyone looking exactly the same with no individuality whatsoever.
Seekers. I don't mind Sweeps, but I've preferred army builders with individual looks to straight up clones.
Seekers, sweeps have no personality compared to seekers and seekers don’t have much personality in the first place.
Seekers. Although it would've been more interesting if the Sweeps were actually clones of Scourge that he could control as a one-bot armada.
YES, and then they could've just had it be Thundercracker and Skywarp that were turned into new characters. The Insecticons could've gotten left out of the reformatting all together, especially since they were still featured in the 1986 toy line.
Seekers, they have personality, individuality, and background. Sweeps are boring and have dumb-looking, robo-wizard beards. I HATE that.
Sweeps. I think of the Seekers as the individual characters more than a unit. I think the Sweeps have a lot of dramatic and comedic potential that's been left untapped.
Seekers. Good balance of individuals and there's also this purple-blue generic soldier color scheme for them.
My preference comes from a toy collecting perspective, because the sweeps are kinda easier to fill out their ranks rather than hunt for all the colors of starscream. Kinda like vehicons, really. I loved those dudes. Especially Steve.
Seekers, mainly because of being distinct individual characters. Then you have the Sweeps who started off well against Ultra Magnus in the movie but just went downhill from there. The crypt scene in Starscream's Ghost comes to mind.
So I'm not the only one who hates facial hair on Transformers. Though I can forgive the Sweeps as they're made in the image of their creator. Seekers are my favourite army builder from the franchise. I loved their portrayal in the More Than Meets the Eye pilot. They weren't typical sadistic bad guys. They were more like the Borg when they attacked the energy installations. Just performing their function, ignoring the humans. They also gave me kind of a robot demon/evil angel vibe with their winged robot modes, blank red optics and silver faces. I'm loving all the exposure they've been getting in recent years between the Devestation game, the Bumblebee movie, Siege and Cyberverse. Siege has given me my all-time favourite Seeker mold. And Bumblebee has show me Seekers can still be cool with some diversity so I've no qualms bulking up the Siege Seeker ranks with the Armada and Cybertron Seekers. I hope we get a lot more repaints of the Siege mold as the various G1 and Cyberverse Seekers. The Botcon Leozack and Skyquake repaints of the Energon mold too including comic-only Hooligan, Gaihawk and Hellbat. All that isn't to say I dislike the Sweeps. G1 Scourge has always been one of my favourite G1 toys since my brothers and I got him, Cyclonus and Galvatron for Christmas 1986. I also have a soft spot for Titanium Scourge. His smaller size makes me use him as a reformatted Insecticon. Chug Scourge is nice too and I love the vehicle mode of Titans Return Scourge. I just wish that like Repugnus he'd gotten a second Titanmaster giving him a better face sculpt. We wouldn't have Sweeps without Seekers. Well, their leader any way. I also love Beast Wars Terrorsaur and his repaints. I see them as the Seekers of the Beast Era.
Takara Legends Gnaw came with an alternate headmaster for Scourge Sweep (G1) - Transformers Wiki , whether or not it's a "better" face sculpt is up to personal taste
