With only a few episodes left in Season 1, and Season 2 on the horizon, I figured now would be a good time to get this little bit of speculation out of the way. Would Season 2 be using the same intro sequence as Season 1, or would a new intro be created for the new season?

I'd be happy with a new intro. If we didn't, it wouldn't bother me.

I'd hope we get a some new stuff with season 2. For example, adding Fowler, Silas and MECH, Soundwave, Knock Out, Breakdown, and Airachnid to the intro. Not just Megatron and Starscream. Maybe some new characters as well.

Just a question for the post. If they do update the intro to include the new characters, if a new main character joins midway Season 2, should the intro be altered again slightly to include them?

 

Needless to say I'd like to see a new intro. Maybe they'll use new images to the same tune. And like Chopper says, I'd like to see more 'cons in it.

 

I personally think that any modifications to a shows intro should be done between seasons. One intro across all 23 or however many episodes. Gives each season their own signature, if you will, and allows one to instantly know which season an episode is from just by the opening credits.

 

Probably. We need more Cons in the intro, and since it looks like we might have a Bot casualty coming up shortly, that would require a new roster shot in the first beat of the sequence.

 

I think we'll definetly get a new intro with all (or most) of the other new characters worked in there, especially on the Decepticon side of things.

As it is the current one only has Megatron and Starscream for the Evil Side, and bunch of Vehicons of course.

 

Keep the same general theme of intro, and same intro music, but update with the expanded Decepticon cast, and what would hopefully be expanded Autobot cast too.

 

I'd love a new intro, but few shows nowadays ever get a new one, and I have little hope that TFP will buck the trend.

Nope. This is an American show and American shows rarely change intros.

 

I would like some more Decepticons in the intro. I mean, just Megatron and Starscream? KnockOut and Breakdown had more screentime than Megatron himself in the season itself!

I hope there's a new opening and new music! The opening now is boring as all hell and the music is just as forgettable as WFC's. Sure it's okay, but does it standout as much as memorable G1 tracks or any 80's cartoon's BGM?

Transformers Prime would be so much better with more music and longer tracks. I would love it if they treated the show like they did MTMTE, but honestly speaking, I'd be happy with half the effort. I just want to hear tunes I'll care about and remember.

An opening with more action would be nice too.

 

This. If anyone remembers Animated's intro, the only thing that changed for seasons 2 and 3 were that they added sound effects to it.

 

Rarely does mean that it happens sometimes though...

Personally, I'd just like a minor tweak here or there, particularlly if any main cast deaths occur. Plus if Starscream creates a legitimate third (well, fourth if you count MECH) faction, that ought to be reflected.

The intro as it is is short and sweet. I like it. No need for the 1:30 anime-style intros (although I do love those). Updating once a season would be nice, particularlly if the scope of the show changes.

Animated was fine with it's intro not changing as the main team pretty much remained the main characters from start to finish, in Prime, I can see it getting shook up more. Particularlly if Unicron shows up.
