As far as I can tell, the pre-orders for those two haven't actually been locked, yet.

 

Put in my pre-order for these guys. Boy Hasbro is really raking us over the coals on this one. How did they know this was my one and only childhood combiner.

 

They still show as available and can be put in the cart, but get removed at checkout.

 

Pulse will still let you add them to your cart as if you can still put in a preorder, but once you go to complete check out they will tell you that they are no longer available.

Best bet to get them now is to hope on other retailers like BBTS getting more.

 

How is hasbro raking anyone over the coals? These are Takara imports priced accordingly

 

Ha ha ha, I guess I should say, my wallet feels like it is getting raked over the coals. (personal perception) Honestly, as bad I want these, its just a bit of sticker shock as I am accustomed to US deluxes that go for 16.99.

 

They were only taking orders until like 8/29. Really annoying website feature to let you get to check out then remove them from the cart...

 

I just made pre-orders for the first two at Ages3andUp. Looks like I may have gotten the last Gulf, but Turtler is still available for pre-order there. This store is from Canada, so the prices are in CAD but ships to the US.

The only other site I saw that has both for pre-order is tfs-express. They give you the option to ship from UK or China.

I'm still very frustrated with this whole limited pre-order window and how some retailers offer pre-orders, but others don't. It's very confusing. Hopefully pre-orders that don't come directly from Pulse will be fulfilled.

 

Thanks for the heads up. I was looking to preorder Turtler and Gulf, but I missed the main window due to financial reasons. I might go ahead now.

Is tfs-express reputable? Seems a little iffy, but maybe I’m just being paranoid.

Never used them myself. There are a few threads about them on the 2005 boards so some members have. They also have a thread and an account here.

 

I have bought loads of figures from their UK shop. They're good. Nothing to worry about.

Why couldn’t hasbro just do this as a regular retail item everyone would have bought at power of the primes prices even little kids would have wanted “sea monster” kids would have gone crazy for it

 

Maybe because Seacons are nowhere near as recognizable in the States as they are in Japan except maybe to hardcore Transformer fans?

Or maybe because these have way more of a parts count than the POTP figures?

I really don’t know.

 

Still could be done like they did with dreadwing and his parter ,powermaster prime and overloaded toys no one has heard off yet they made them and yes they sold! So yes Seacons can be done

Because the Seacons are a Takara initiated project (I don't know if that's the right word but you get what I mean), Hasbro had nothing to do with making them, they're just importing them for the US market.

 

they have more accessories and hasbro didnt care to do them, they are takara releases like god bomber, big powered and greatshot, hasbro didnt care enough to do any of those either

 

They could be done cheaper, and Hasbro likely would have done that if there had been more time, but the Prime Wars Trilogy is over and we never got a chance at Seacons let alone repaints/retools of the Dinobots.

So Takara decided to do them for Legends EX, which turned into their Generation Selects line for brand unity, so we get Seacons but they're TTMall exclusives and carry an exclusive item price tag.
