Tentakill is Moonracer, not Chromia. It might be a derivative of one of Monracers's other mould shares, but not Chromia who has very few parts in common and lacks the parts to combine.

While we can't see much of the in common moulding here, we can get a vaguely Tentakill shape out of Moonracer which ends up the other way up in leg mode like Tentakill does



(Actually there's a hint of red on that Tentakill beast towards the top indicating it's been built round Novastar's parts)

Skalor is Blot, nobody's arguing that, blindingly obvious. And it's lots of Blot too. The only things changed are the forearms & hands, head, weapons and Beast Mode backpack.





Jawbreaker is Rippersnapper - you can see his robot legs and beast tail & legs, all of which are unique. New robot head, Beast mode head and beast mode lower legs/feet.





Nautilator is also Blot, those are Blot's legs stretched out behind it, which are unique to the Blot version of the mould. If my photo was better you'd see the body, or at least it's back, is also the same.



Seawing is Cutthroat, it uses the Cutthroat version of the mould with the beast legs.




No sign of any Sinnertwin/Snarl there anywhere

Thanks for all the work in figuring out and photographing the terrorcons! I'm glad rippersnapper is only used once on jawbreaker, who will always be either the gun or an arm on mine... hope they fix the thin plastic on the 5mm hole used for combiner hands/feet...

tentakill would fall into the retool category

 

Skalor looks good. I’m surprised how well Blot works remolded as him. And Snaptrap looks well. I look forward to continue being surprised seeing the others.

Please send help, I can't stop listening to 'See See Seacons'! The wait for Turtler and Gulf is going to be bad enough, but waiting for the rest is going to even worse, I'm so excited for these fish! I wonder what the release schedule is going to be like for the rest of them?

 

Yeah, maybe not the best of examples, because Blurr and Chromedome don't really work the same at all. IIRC, those toys share the thigh and knee parts, the small gun, and the Titan Master front side. Those are the toys that came to mind first, though, and stuck. Tentakill appears to at least retain most of the engineering, even though entirely re-shelled.

Toys like that don't count as "retools" in Hasbro's books, either. Some shared parts for convenience sake, but as far as budget goes, they're new toys. IIRC a discussion along these lines happened with a Hasbro rep regarding Animated Prowl, and his Samurai Armor upgrade. Samurai Prowl was considered effectively a brand new toy, internally.

 

BBTS put up the listings and took em down about 15 mins after that. I was able to snag 2 of each before that happened. No idea why the delay to put them up again when everyone else has listed them

 

Any translations of parts 2 and 3 of the comic?

 

Maybe they really did sell out that fast.

 

Perhaps, but one would assume if that were the case the listings would still be up but read "sold out"

 

To add some credence to this. I cancelled my orders from BBTS the other day (ordered them from Toy Dojo instead, couple bucks more but their customer service is impeccable and worth the extra $5...rambling). But after I cancelled them I immediately did a search for them and the listing still did not exist. Definitely seems like a BBTS snafu

 

So for the sake of the community (and my own sanity) i just contacted BBTS customer service. The rep knew exactly what I was going to ask before I asked it (guess its been a very popular question) and assured me that the listings will be going up again soon, citing an unnamed discrepancy (im guessing the price point) as the reason for the listing being removed. He also assured me that anyone who did manage to sneak a preorder in will have said preorder honored at the original price point.

 

Which is the reason I shifted my PO to Pulse. Not sure what's happening here but I'm not going to risk missing out.
