Just got myself a Asian Exclusive Bruticus Maximus + FP add-on cos I missed the initial releases.

    Question:
Given that the price is similar to secondary market price for SDCC Bruticus, which also pays homage to G1 Bruticus, which one is more worthwhile, in your opinion?

I'm gonna be the odd one out & say SDCC FOC Bruticus...

Simply because its a game accurate version while FP Bruticus is just...imaginary. :)

I beg to differ. The FP Bruticus tried its best to look as close to an updated G1 Bruticus as it could. And in my opinion, FP did an awesome job at it (even though I think they could have used a nice chest shield). And with the new Bruticus and the more "G1 toy accurate" coloring for the FP addons....then this new one would do a better job (if you were a fan of the original toy).

Let's not forget the energon Bruticus and then the ultra rare movie limbs Reverb and Gunbarrel that when combined with warcry and flameblast......could make a nice lil homage to Battle Gaia. I'm wondering if the FOC Bruticus will have limbs that will allow for that homage too?

I used the word "imaginary" because it doesn't exist officially in the TFs universe. (Its not in comics nor animation)

And Bruticus Maximus doesn't look like that at all in Energon/Superlink anime.

This is what I'm driving at. ;)

    SDCC.
Official and licensed always beats 3rd Party imo. I don't have a single 3rd party thing in my collection and I'm proud of it.

I see where you're coming from, but honestly.....wouldn't you think that all these characters are "imaginary" in their own right?

Even though it "doesn't" look like that at all in the anime, you have to understand why FP did what they did. That damned toy was too damned ugly. In fact, if I remember correctly, it was so fugly that it warmed the shelves well into clearance stages.....until FP came out with their add ons?

That's cool. Your opinion and I respect it. I think a lot of the FOC toys look like a big piece of painted turd personally. I don't own any FOC toys and would rather have 3rd party toys that look more like the Transformers I grew up with. I'm proud of that too.

If you don't buy them because they just don't interest you that's cool. But it would be a shame if you deprive yourself of some fun toys just because you want to stick to your guns on only buying official Transformers.

As for the poll, I'm going to vote for FP. The combined robot looks more solid, it's arms are the same length, and it has a lot of badass guns. But when taken apart I think the SDCC version has the better looking team.

I would say FP (still need to get one for myself), but I am LOVING my G2 FoC Bruticus.

Probably some bias on my part, since my original G2 Bruticus was one of my favorite toys as a kid.

Seems like there's a common consensus on this. Which then leads me to wonder why the numerous number of threads on FOC Bruticus?

I used to swear off third party as well and FP Bruticus add-on is my first.

The point is this, if HasTak and third party makes the same quality toy, then no doubt I will go for Hastak. But truth be told, some of the third party toys simply thrash the official ones by miles.

Masterpiece is the greatest thing HasTak has going on now and hopefully they will not let us down.

And back to the thread, I can't wait for my FP Bruticus!

I'd go with the Collossus upgrade set. Munitioner and Explorer are damn cool toys in their own right and when combined give Bruticus limbs that are fully functional articulation wise and look right and in scale.

Had the FOC Onslaught been a voyager toy then proportions might be better but still wouldn't match in posing him to look good.

That said I am not cancelling my preorder on G2 Bruticus from Amazon. I do want the toy and it will probably be the only way i'll manage to get a hold of a full Bruticus outside of inflated aftermarket prices seeing how I live in the UK.
