With Comic Con getting more popular every year, Hasbro should step up the quantities of their exclusives. Their hottest toys have been selling out by Friday for the last 4 years.

 

I wonder if they're releasing in batches to allow their warehouse to keep up with timely shipping. It would make sense from a operational standpoint.

- Forecast how many shipping boxes fills an 8 hour day (per warehouse employee).
- Grab a normal day's sales figures (year-to-date).
- Determine / estimate X amount of SDCC to fill a worker's day, not send them into overtime.
- Release X amount on the website.

Pros:
- no overtime labor costs
- employee burnout doesn't happen
- website doesn't crash
- orders are delivered without delay

Cons:
- pissed off fans calling your CSRs for days on end

 

If the 3rd party developers see enough demand for it, they'll do it. Realistically, they couldn't start designing until they get their hands on a normal Onslaught figure, though, so it's going to take awhile even if someone decides to do it.

It's feasible, but you would have to tailor the add-on for each individual site that people want it to work on. Not too many people willing to do that.

I was told the server checks to see if enough is available when it resets. Which is every 6 hours or so and I've noticed it resetting at 11am central , 5pm central and 11pm central time. Or very close to those times around 20 minutes or so. So for the weekend that's when I'll check. No use in just wasting anymore time. Hasbro really should do something special for us. I mean we are their most devoted fans lol. 5 days clicking refresh deserves something and I don't mean a dunce hat lol

Heya I've been following y'all's thread ever since Monday when I started waiting for the Derpy figure (very interesting thread, by the way. Loved the sleep deprivation parts on Tuesday).

Someone listed the idea of using the Check4Change Firefox addon and was shot down because there's really no text for the addon to track on the single exclusive's page. Anyway, I was wondering what y'all's thoughts were on highlighting everything on the exclusives page (since the exclusives tend to switch positions on the exclusives page when they're in stock and out of stock, the text should technically change).

Of course the preferences would need to be set to play sound / create a pop up and refresh the page every 10 - 30 seconds or so.

Do you guys think this would work?

I realize that its past the store's working hours already, so many of you have given up for the night and I may not get an immediate response. Thank you for your time, I've really enjoyed following the thread.
