Any one know? by looking at the pictures on BBTS it looks like the double but cannot be really sure...was wondering if someone at SDCC actually got him and opened him.
As far as I know, the original mold was re-tooled for the Twincast release, so any subsequent release will have the larger tape deck. Likewise Soundwave.
Not necessarily true, as single-tape releases of Soundwave were retooled backwards from the Soundblaster design (the door hinge design of which came from a variant of Soundwave that predated Soundblaster, so the resulting single-tape release is still accurate), and have been released after dual-tape releases. It seems likely that for the reissues, both cassette decks are molded and the desired one is chosen, just as alternate heads/parts are often part of a mold.
I mean the Takara Bookstyle reissue of Blaster that only had a single tape deck. The eHobby release of Twincast had the double deck. The Takara Bookstyle reissue of Soundwave had the single tape deck, Takara Bookstyle reissue of Soundblaster had the double deck, Encore Soundwave only had the single tape deck (I think) and the original Hasbro reissue of Soundwave form a few years sago used the Soundblaster mold so had a double take deck.
