Even if that is a joke (which I'm not sure of) its a safe bet that there are people who will indeed be doing that.

Definetly. But magic the gathering in general has had a terrible track record of accurately gauging and releasing the right amount of product.

To put it in TF terms, most of the limited release product has been like hasbro MP10 where only certain stores get it and in limited quantitys and the price it however they feel regardless of MSRP and even then a shocking amount goes to flippers. Makes TF collecting quite relaxing actually.

It was also sort of annoying that at the Con, the limit on these sets was 2 per person (vs. 1 per person for Metroplex and the Joe set). And then it sold out first, leaving a lot of attendees in the lurch. I think they underestimated its popularity (to be fair, I did too... I had no idea how popular Magic apparently is).

But I do wish it had been limited to 1 per person at the Con.

That limit would have helped con goers, but the aftermarket price would probably be almost the same. The supply would remain just as limited.

Or even if they had made it a "con" exclusive leaving the door open for it to ba available later at things like NYCC and PAX instead of just SDCC.

As it is I have a standing offer of $100 for anyone in BC who can get a hold of one.

Or even more limited. If you consider how many people would have opted to keep theirs without having an extra to sell.

I'm so used to refreshing and expecting to see the same items pop up, that I'm worried I'll freak out and not react fast enough when they finally do show up! Anybody else feel this way? At this point, I'll at least hesitate a little being like "is this real life?"

Ugh, I really hope it's tomorrow and not Friday. It'd be nice to enjoy the spoils on Friday without this added stress (assuming I get what I want)!

Oh yes, I agree. I'm just speaking selfishly as a Con-goer. :)  But I do feel like given the expense and hassle of actually attending the Con, it should be more of a sure bet to get the actual products offered.

I can't believe I'm saying this... it makes me almost ill to do so... but Mattycollector handled it better. You pre-ordered your Con exclusives, so they knew exactly how many they would need to produce/bring, and then you could just go pick them up. If Hasbro had done that, plus brought some extras to just sell on top of that, fewer people would have met with disappointment.

We're costing them a fortune in bandwidth bills.

Personally, my page refreshing tools are checking as frequent as possible and have been since Sunday night.

The seething rage is beginning. Let's hope their blood goblets fill up fast over at HTS HQ and the levers set the exclusives free soon.

Guess this is the first year they'll go:
    A. on a Thursday
    B. on a Friday
    C. 2 weeks after SDCC
    D. Hasbro is secretly selling these on ebay since they know they can get 3X the price
