Does anyone know where i can get the hi-res color versions of these images? They were done by Hidetsugu Yoshioka for some laser disc release. I've been looking for them for some time, but I'm not sure if they even exist. 9. ^ that insecticon is shrapnel in odd reference to that time on the cartoon that he absorbs enough energy to become that big. Though other than the very cool pose of the combaticons all aiming to shoot starscream. Its a boring pic for I see a ton of unidentifiable garbage can clones dangleing off the sides of the decepticon mural. (Kremseek and nightbird are nifty though) I like the autobot one with the dinobots muking around and what I beleive is sideswipe (jet pack) and cosmos bumbling about in the air. It has better line definition and I can tell what everything is. It's more a where's waldo appeal. could be made by the same guys who made the myclone transformers pvc toys: http://www.funkyzilla.com/acatalog/Transformers-Myclone-all-hr.jpg http://www.transformertoys.co.uk/img/transformers-toys/myclone/ramjet/ramjet-002.jpg http://www.lastclassic.com/TF/SW/g1-myclone.jpg
I think I saw one of those illustrations (or could be a different one, it was of SD TFs) in Transformers Visual Works book. Can't be sure now because I don't have the book anymore.
Oh! Good call... I remember that now, but I honestly haven't seen that episode since the series originally ran so I hadn't thought about. Well done!
Anyone notice Duke from G.I. Joe in the first picture? He's at the top-right, waving the American flag, to the right of Optimus Prime and the Matrix. Cool to see G.I. Joe in these pictures along with all the Transformers characters and references.
Dude, no. Those are the things that make it AWESOME! All the stuff haning off the edges are real things from various episodes. The groups of identical robots on the right? The truck-and-crate Decepticons from "War Dawn." The green and yellow things on the left? The transforming cars from "Make Tracks". Below them, the trains? The Astroforce, from "Triple Takeover." Below them, the Autoscout from "A Prime Problem". In the bottom right corner, Deceptitran and his soldiers from "Sea Change." On top - the slave pit guard from "Desertion of the Dinobots"! Left of the Combaticons - Shockwave's sentinel from various episodes! Shockwave and the Rainmakers are even standing on the headless Guardian Robot from "War Dawn"! Anyway... I've never seen coloured versions of any of them except the Decepticon one, unfortunately. High quality line-art version of all three (plus two from "The Rebirth") are included in Transformers Visualworks, though.
Really? That's one I'm having the most trouble trying to figure everything out. I love all of the obscure characters, and Ultra Magnus's pose in the first picture.
The third one with all the Decepticons was my desktop for ages! First time seeing the other two pics though. It really would be nice to have them in higher rez and in colour.
wow, allow me to knock some dust off an old thread here. I'm right there with Jmandawg and the rest of you guys. I wanted a cleaner, high res, COLORED versions of some of these art pieces, so I was planning on trying to color one or two, but while trying to identify these guys (with help of a friend, several DVD collections, almanacs, a ton of reference books and various TF Wiki's) I'm stumped on two of them. Mostly on the first piece posted, also known on the web as "SDLDPostmovie". These two in the red boxes of the original picture then a close up of the two. Can anyone (you too Chris McFeely - your knowledge impresses me) help me identifying these two? First the one at the bottom in the middle between Headstrong and Ramhorn and just below Primacon. Then second: the larger Autobot between Defensor and the Throttlebots, and behind Dirk Manus. I have dug up everything I can and burned out all of my resources...I'm just stumped. I need to dig in the brains of TFW here.. Please - Help!!
The big one is Broadside the triplechanger. The other one, not sure... something from season 3 for sure. My best guess is that it's one of the beasts that Energy creature from "call of the primative" turned into... the giant ape/gorilla one.
Whaaa?? Broadside??? Are you freaking kidding me??? I was even wondering why he wasn't in the picture. But I was going off the toy and comic, but yeah, he's right from the cartoon... Thanks BackPack yeah, It's safe to say that this entire picture is Season 3. I'm going to watch "call of the primitive" tonight to see if that's who you're talking about...which would make sense, since (whoa...my head just spun) it is the same episode with Primacon in it. thanks again man, and of course TFW for the record breaking time on the response. Now I think I have all of them identified......I think......
Well I'll be a monkey's uncle, always thought it was a Quintesson Executioner. No idea why they decided to go with two different designs for Broadside.
Yeah, it was the first form it took when it took on the primitives. Surprised the heck out of me when I saw it.
thats funny, thats the same screen shot I took while watching the show. Didn't realize there were several characters from that episode in the big picture. Like the spider on Unicron's head is one of Tornedron's forms...which TFWiki needs to update there pictures of him. But what I got from that episode, is that Primacron - that Monkey scientist created Unicron and the Matrix??? but the Quintessons created the Transformers (another episode)...that doesn't follow the comics though.. Or did I misunderstand that episode?
Seriously save yourself the headache. If you try to make sense of it all you'll just go crazy. There are too many origin stories for how things came to be to try and even begin to make them come to some cohesive story.
