Optimus gets the Decepticon Matrix of Leadership (is there one? In any continuity) and becomes emo, slaps Arcee, and does John Travolta dances with Blackarachnia.

/Not that I blame all of SM3 on Raimi...
//Cause the execs were the ones who wanted Venom.
///Now, that less chatty Spidey...Sammy, we have to talk about that one.

Only if we get characterization out the ass in TF3.

Oh right, characterization can't work in a Bay movie, can it?

Cause Venom was soooo well writen? Oh wait...

I´m almost wishing a new director and the he makes a crappy movie. It might hurt the franchise, but oh men..It would be soo worth it to see the results and excuses of the fans.

OK let's think of how different directors would do it. To wit...

Tim Burton's TF: You know the drill, Elfman score, Depp is Prime, Bonham-Carter is Arcee, TF on all kinds of Hot Topic merchandise.

Diablo Cody's TF: Arcee is the star and is made into a witty for witty's sakes spunky female.

Bryan Singer's TF: Prime dies and returns but in a not so subtle Jesus Christ fashion. And Sam = James Marsden.

Brett Ratner's TF: Sam = CHRIS TUCKER, BAYBEE!

John Kricfalusi's TF: Everyone is drawn in Bob Clampett style and have GROSS OUT BODY CHANGES AND FUNCTIONS!

    And...?

This thread is nothing but yet another ugly head growing out the traditionalist beast thats been growing since this movie franchise was born.

Anyone whose taken part in this argument with an ounce of maturity can concede that older Transformer fans at least have every right to protest to the design and executions of these movies if they go against how they thought the films should have been done.

Its all a clash of perspectives, but I truly feel this thread carries that just plain negative, stubborn mindset that nothing attached to these movies can be done right. Thats a very close-minded, unfortunate conviction, and its proven countless times over the past two years to accomplish nothing but prevent those expressing it from just shutting up, enjoying the movie, and then disregarding it with dignity.

As far as I'm concerned, people who bash these movies with no background reasoning other than saying "Its sucks" or "It's wrong" should simply be ignored because its dirtying the water of a potentially ground-breaking territory.

I'm in. I'd love to see what a real director could do with a Transformers movie.

    How could I forget?

M Night Shamaylan's TF: The CARS are actually in disguise as ROBOTS! WHATTA TWEEST!

Judd Apatow's TF: Sam is Seth Rogen and is a, wait for it, lovable pot head!

Brian Michael Bendis' TF: Luke Cage MUST be in it.

Joe Quesada's TF: Well at least he'll use size changes and whatnot. WHY? IT'S MAGIC WE DON'T HAVE TO EXPLAIN HOW IT WORKS!

He didn't say scrap the films, or potential future films, or Transformers films, he said TF3 as in Bay's TF3.

Can I ask why, when someone says something akin to the title of the thread or maybe asks should Bayformers end with the third installment, do some people assume the intent is no more Transformers movies ever?

Pretty much in agreement, initially, altho I didn't find it "OK"... I did think it was a very bad film. It had a handful of great fight set pieces (that seemed to belong to another script), and the effects work was top drawer. But all the other stuff... including the directioness, patchbuilt "story"... honestly, it was a mess. And quite a boring meandering mess, too. Too much embarrassing "comedy", over-reliance on the military for spectacle (which the excellent robot fights proved was unnecessary), and too much unchecked fanwank/Hasbro input - Pretender Alice, Devastator, the Matrix concept, the Fallen and Power-up Prime were all either pointless, or wasted opportunities.

So yes, I'd vote to keep the designs, keep the ILM team, but bring in a different director, different scriptwriters, and produce a simple but taut plot with a focussed cast (both robots and humans), which involves an actual threat from a Decepticon faction which seems genuinely dangerous.

Ultimately, I feel TF1 did far more things right than ROTF.

Quentin Tarantino's TF: Pretty much ROTF, but more drugs and swearing.

Seth McFarlane's TF: "Megatron must be stopped...just like the time I stopped Cobra Commander from trying to lynch Roadblock!" (Insert flashback of hooded CC chasing RB with a burning cross...cause you see, he looks like a KKK member...)

/Which is why we probably have Uber-Jason CC instead.
//For the better. When the next "[GENRE] Movie" comes out, if hooded CC WAS there, I could totally see them doing the scenario I mentioned above.
///BTW...OK, I get it. No one's biting on this routine, are they?

Its gonna be hard to post here and not be perceived as a Bay hater or a whinger, but what the hell.

First, maybe OP needs a poll attached.

    Secondly:

I actually wouldn't mind seeing a new take, someone else's vision of TFs on the big screen. I think Bay has peaked with TF in ROTF.
I didn't like the first film, but really enjoyed ROTF, so even if he keeps TF3 similar its not a problem, but I wouldn't mind, like I said, to see a new vision for TF3 perhaps, but definitley TF4, and any following instalments.
