Honestly I never noticed.... and I'm surprised because I'm an even bigger fan of Star Wars than I am of Transformers lol. Mind = blown
Now that you mention it.... Weren't a lot of the laser and flying sounds right out of Star Wars also? They were obviously inspired by SW quite a bit. I wouldn't doubt it. If only Scourge were easier to get cheap, that would be a good kitbash. Or if the Generations Scourge's alt mode weren't so different...
yeah,I noticed that during around 1987. It would be kinda cool for takara/hasbro to recolor a scourge sweep in luke skywalker landspeeder brown colors. that generations Scourge would make a decent brown colored sweep.
Wow that's amazing. Never even noticed all these years. If scourge had a passenger section, it would be a dead match.
Holy CRAP!!!! I was born in '75...my very first solid memory was my grandparents taking me to see Star Wars. Transformers has ALWAYS been something I love, and I have distinct memories of seeing the '86 movie in the theaters. I. Have. Never. Considered. This. Ever. Not once. I have owned multiple landspeeders, G1 Scourge and Titanium Scourge, the movie and S3, and not once have I thought of this. So simple. So brilliant. I'm SO doing this project, and I'll totally give you credit for the idea. Awesome.
Well, I guess this means that there were certain things borrowed from Star Wars in The Transformers: the Movie then. Mind = blown (I never really noticed)
actually, I think you uber geeks are looking into it way too much..... I personally don't think it was intentional.
So we can add this to the 1986 movie = Star Wars list? Giant killer planets, young brash character grows up, mentor/leader is killed by enemy....nazi/samurai helmets
Yeah, I knew of the correlation. Not of my own brainstorming, however. That would involve having seen Star Wars and the original TF movie/Season three of G1. No, I know because it was mentioned in the second episode of Plastic Addict.
I've also noticed a few sounds from Star Trek as well. Like whenever Soundwave releases the energon cubes out of his chest, you hear the familiar swoosh of the doors off of Star Trek.
