http://news.yahoo.com/s/space/20060308/sc_space/recordsetforhottesttemperatureonearth36billiondegreesinlab i'm all for new experiments and even more so about finding out new things, but this is insane.
Along the same lines, this is a link I found from following one of the links from that article: Top 10 ways to destroy the Earth
more or less what they did was create a micro sun...just not sure how...omg...when i read that i too had flash backs to spidey 2 and even more so of a room of top notch scientists scratching their heads goin' "What the hell was that?!" "Wow..." "Hmmm, to be sure let's do it again" several tries later "Yep, that's a new record!" "Yep! Now...how the hell did we do it?"
Why would they even want to produce something like that. And after doing it they were all like, Hmmm, I wonder if that was a mistake. Lets try again and see. Dumb asses.
Im scared at scientist if they didnt record the steps to poduce that..... and what amazes me the most is that when the sun dies in a few million years this may be the answer to preserve life I asume. I also have flashbacks to spiderman 2....
1) We want to produce that, because just from reading the article it looks like it could have applications for energy generation along with plenty of other things. 2) I'd say it's 99% sure they recorded the steps on what they did to do it, things are pretty well documented in a lab type situation like that. Completely unrelated: Physicists FTW!
ok, from what i understand now, this was a very very fast proccess. so it's not like they had an oven on, but damn....it's still crazy! There is mention of an outside force they can't pin down, so i'm willing to bet, this is a new discovery in that field.
Who was harmed in this experiment? What justification do you have that what they did was wrong? Spiderman 2 was a movie. This was an experiment in a lab. Big difference.
