Jolt getting killed by Shockwave. (That was in the novelization, right?)

No, that was in a prequel comic.

All of these. This would've made the movie 10x better and the Bots and Cons would've had more characterization with these scenes.

Playground scene, Optimus' conversation with the President at the airbase, anything additional with Sentinel, Optimus and Megatron.

In a fictional world where the entire novel could be turned into an 8 hour movie and I wouldn't mind, I'd take the entire novel and make it into an 8 hour movie. Granted, there are a few things that the movie actually does better than the novel (Ratchet gets even less focus and dialogue in the novel than he does in the movie), but there's just so many scenes from the novel that I'd want, that I might as well just take the whole thing.

Everything. The novel was unspeakably better.

A scene between Sam and Sentinel Prime at a playground shortly before Sentinel's betrayal. It was supposedly a really special moment between the two.

To play devil's advocate here, at the least the movie had more Ratchet. The novel had all of two, maybe three lines for Ratchet. The film had seven lines. (Yeah, I know, whoop-dee-doo, seven lines. But the point is that seven is better than two or three).

But I agree that the novel is way better. Though to be fair, they're completely different mediums, both with their own set of strengths and weaknesses. I'd love for the novel to have been made into an eight hour movie. But that's the thing: it would've been an eight hour movie. And that s**t just don't fly, you know?

A brief scene near a playground where Sentinel and Sam share a moment.

"I have been monitoring your various broadcasts, and there are constant reports of fractiousness among your people: divides among racial lines, philosophical boundaries. Yet children of all races, creeds, and colors cavort upon me, pretending to be firefighters, with no recognition of the differences between them. Meanwhile the adults, also of various ethnicities, engage in casual and friendly conversation and immediately discourage any fights or discord between the children. I have therefore concluded that for your civilization to reach its true potential, what your planet requires is more playgrounds."

So just imagine that awesomeness that is Nimoy as Sentinel saying that speech. :D

Dang it... Then I'd have to say the Twin's death scene. Would've made so many people happy...

The Twin's death scene. Michael Bay is an idiot for cutting that out. It would've been great to see because I feel that scene would've been a great redemptive scene for them and turned around alot of people's minds about them including me.

That one scene was part of what just really made Sentinel Prime my one real favorite character in the whole trilogy. Bay definitely gives character where character is due. If only he had done with lots of the others instead of focusing the whole trilogy on damn Sam.

Highway battle scene that had more Mirage/Dino and Sideswipe. Supposedly Mirage had wheeled feet in the novel. :/

Starscream VS the Ark with Optimus watching in horror, Que being Wheeljack and Dino being Mirage, an actual explanation to how Sam escaped when Laserbeak attacked him at work, Sentinel going off on his own (indicating a meeting with Megatron when you know of his alliance), Starscream taunting the Ospreys, Starscream killing Mirage (preferably combined with Sam killing Starscream), Soundwave putting on a show for Megatron on top of a building (beating up captured Bee and mocking him with Mirage's remains), Sentinel being killed by his own Rust Cannon and the truce between the Bots and Cons.

Also, I really like Megatron's monolog and Shockwave's dialog in the comics.

    Edit: Forgot the Twins' death.

That is pretty cool. Insightful about Humanity and with a nice little amusing button at the end that didn't involve showing some bare ass or urinating on anyone. So of course it was never going to end up in the actual movie.
