it could well be the case, but we only have cade looking up to something with a city Silhouette in the back ground. So it could be a different scene altogether

Looks to be the same scene - definitely seems to match.

As for dialogue;

"There remains a price on my head"
- Proof that Lockdown and others are after Optimus
"I endanger you all if I stay"
- They are after Optimus or something Optimus has (The Matrix?)
"I shall take it where it can never be found"
- Taking an item away because the Decepticon threat will always be after said item
"Whenever you look at the stars, think of them as my soul"
- Leaving never to return
"Defend this family Autobots as they have you"
- Shows that the Yaegers will have an active part defending the Autobots in the final battle
"Defend all they can be"
- Reference to the line where Cade asks Optimus to have hope for what humanity can be

 

what if the object that optimus has is the dark matrix? or something that can help awaken a sleeping giant as such ?? hence why he has to take it away with him. and if it is something like that prehaps it acts like kryptonite to optimus and slowly takes his life force away whilst he is in possesion of it, hence the line " Whenever you look at the stars, think of them as my soul " to indicate that he is dying because he holds possesion of this certain object

 

It could be the Dark Spark from the game

 

That wouldn't make sense if your saying something like that he is in the game and I would imagine as such fighting. He wouldn't be able to fight if he were dying. Though I do agree on one account his speech is very final

 

I suppose it could be the Dark Matrix or Dark Spark - however I think that's just for the game and not for the films? Also the game serves as a sort of prequel/time meddling event occurring around the same time as the film - so not sure where it stand in terms of continuity.

While the line 'think of them as my soul' could hint at his death - I question why he would state that he has to leave because of the bounty on his head before that line if he is already dying. I suppose we'll have to wait for the film to be sure, but its only been 5 years since Optimus's last 'death' in the film series... so not sure if they'd kill him again.

 

What about the mysterious 'Key' we've been hearing about? Perhaps this is an artifact that acts like the Allspark hence why the humans have been able to create their own 'Transformers'...

 

Good point. It is an Intriguing statement prime states for this Scene and only time will tell what it all relates to

 

Kinda feels like it might resemble the end of TFormers Prime...

 

I hope not. Season 3 was really well done but the PR movie was pretty weak.

What if Prime is taking the relic (Key, Dark Spark, whatever) because it makes evil Sparks and Lockdown and his employer want it to help invade Earth? Like, Lockdown activates and brings the human-made TFs to life, so then he wants to use this to make an army for his employer.

 

Its an option - though that plot seems very reminiscent of the first movie. Not sure they'd go that route again.

 

Well whatever happens to Lockdown in this movie, whoever sent him will still be after Optimus, he's probably just doing the wise thing and pissing off into outer space to keep Earth and the other Autobots safe.

Also it gives him a potentially badass return sequence in the next movie

I could see OP taking the Dinobots with him in a ship at then end and then having a 1986 Mission City moment where the Dinos jump out and pound some Cons to save the day in TF 5. It'd be a pretty cool G1 shout out.
