The alt mode really annoys me. It is a really sloppy looking pen with no smooth sides. Instead, just lots of random seams and exposed parts. And I think this is the first square pen I have ever seen. I can't even imagine this pen being comfortable holding.

It's like the designers started with the robot form and then designed a transformation so the parts were compacted into a square tube. Then afterwards they looked at their alt mode design and said "hmmm...what alt mode does this resemble?"

 

I still would love to add that to my personal collection. Just for reaction my visitors would get when they see it on my bookshelf.

 

I don't see the point of the alt-mode. Why doesn't he at least turn into another video game console?

 

say what you want about the pen but that robot mode is basically what I want from a new classics style toy.

Why? Because the pen is mightier than the (energon) sword. Even Optimus realized this.

Nice shots of the colored figure! Wow, he really does look great and very articulated. The size appears to be about Scout or a smallish Deluxe even! Cool!

 

According to the scan in Supreme Mecha - GunplaVN Blog, the bot mode is 10 cm, about 4 inches, tall.

Interesting...It seems that we are also getting an Ultra Magnus deco of this pen. At least according to HLJ:

I knew they had mentioned Convoy and Black Convey, but the Magnus deco appears to be new information.

 

Ultra Magnus re-deco...man we haven't had one of those in a while. (I assume it will be War and Peace White Ultra Magnus?)

 

Robot mode is tiny, alt mode sucks. But I pre-ordered Optimus and Magnus. Hope I won't regret it.

These look too good. And yes, if they release a new Generations Optimus, he should definitely look like this in robot mode.

 

If you own generations metroplex having a small articulated g1 ish prime will be a crowning glory on plexes shoulder.

I might be grabbing all three. I like the bot mode. The pen mode, I could care less about. Hopefully, the transformation doesn't break the figure.

 

I kind of prefer how the pen looks unpainted. I guess the UM version comes closest to that.

 

I know man! If there's an Optimus repaint, then the white Magnus should always take priority over any other color as he was the first one to debut since 86. Really pissed of with MP10 redeco with the black, YOTH, the green, the purple, etc. Anyhow, that white Magnus pen shall be mine!

 

Blah blah blah alt mode blah blah blah colors blah blah blah characters... who cares about all that?

Pen enthusiasts want to know the answer to the real question: How big is the tip? If it's over 0.5mm it's garbage!
