Wasn't sure whether to post this in General or Non TF, so I flipped a coin and here it is (mods, please move to the correct board if this isn't the place)

Anyone here into building scale models? I've been looking for a decent x-wing but couldn't find any in stores aside from the Lego set. I checked out a local arts and crafts store and came across this level 1 kit from Revell. The kit claims that no glue or paint is necessary, but the final build sure does look awfully plain. Anyone here have any experience building these models have any pointers with paint?
