Two days and TFSource still doesn't have it up. I guess I might have to go with BBTS for this. And I'm hesitant, despite looking forward to this (I need a Shockwave to fight my FP Dinos) because that alt-mode looks like a serious hot mess. What is going on with that thing?

So it looks like the cannon has a posting point similar to the FoC toy.

What I can't determine is if the legs have a tabbing point to replicate the way the original toy transformed. How likely is it that this was sacrificed in order to beef up the legs from the deluxe version?

 

I hate to be the bearer of bad news guys but regarding that alt mode, look at the hip area. The thigh swivel is capped and thus can't swing 180. Also the gun has molding that fits that orientation of the chest (meaning it wouldn't work if the gun were upside down). And finally look at the panels that were rotated; because they are where they need to be for his deluxe toy.

All this STRONGLY implies... that alt mode is transformed correctly...

What if the issue is that the waist is supposed to be spun 180?

The orientation of the gun is wrong in alt mode. That spin would fix it and hide most of the ugliness we now see.

I think there are small tabs on the inner leg panels, atop the points, where the cannon affixes. You can see two small tab slots on top of the gun.

 

I still doubt it. The gun has arms that are designed to go over the chest piece in vehicle mode. If that were on the bottom they would serve no purpose and make the figure unable to rest flush.

 

Or those arms are meant to go over something on the bottom

 

i hope the alt mode is wrong but it won't stop me from getting him. love that bot mode and he needs to be on my shelf.

 

I like that he has a little Omega Supreme thruster on the back. Not sure if that's game accurate but it's cool to have similar design elements to similar pieces of tech.

 

What the fuck happened in the vehicle mode.

 

If you look up the intro scene to chapter 2 of Rise of the Dark Spark, you'll see that thruster on Shockwave (I believe it is about 1min 20 sec into the scene).

Nothing. It's actually very similar to how the official fig's alt-mode is.

 

Not sure why and I'm not familiar with the website at all but TF-Direct.com has this pre-order set at $44.95.

The FoC's front/leg areas were closed up into a larger 3-pronged star. Hard to believe they mistransformed their own product and left it like this mess.
