It probably wont happen. I am well aware that Transformers is a franchise and that Hasbro has to sell toys and all, but do we really need more Autobots in TF5?
I mean we have 5 autobots that for sure survived tf4, and 4 Dinobots. Pretending that Optimus is not in TF5 (which I doubt), we would still have a cast of 8. Now I'd love to see various characters on the big screen, but Id rather continue the character development of these 9 bots then adding more to the script (which reduces ea. Of the bots possible screen time). I rather them take the Prime/Animated approach and keep the team small and familiar over the next 2 movies. So yeah, this is my responce to all the "I want this and that autobot in TF5" threads.

Hasn't happened, won't ever happen. None of the Autobots did anything notable or grow, all they did was die/disappear off screen. And because the movies are earning billions, the creative team will think they're doing everything perfectly.

 

I totally agree, although I think Optimus might benefit from having a new Autobot he travels through space with. Just my thought.

The Decepticons DO need a few new faces though. That way both the Autobots and Decepticons can have the group dynamic that the Autobots in AOE had.

Any way, Im fine with most the Dinobots to stay voiceless, just give grimlock a few "hulk smash" type lines

Hot rod Needs to happen, plan and simple, ultra magnus as well.

 

Just add Ultra Magnus and Red Alert to the team then we're fine! Plus without a doubt, either Hound, Crosshairs or Drift will die in TF5, so adding a new character won't be that bad.

 

Prowl is a must, imo.

But yeah, I agree, the need to insert new characters to sell toys is one of the main reasons the robot characters aren't seen as real characters. The only exception is Optimus, but he's the star of the show.

They need to give BB a speaking voice and do away with that god awful radio. He's the only core character guaranteed to return again.

 

With you on Magnus, but Red Alert is just Ratchet with a different name, and they already killed him off.

I want to see Magnus and Hot Rod.

 

I can live without ultra magnus... But rodimus is a must, eventually, and I'm getting sick of 2nd string bots when there are much better main bots...
Instead of drift, crosswire, etc... Why can't we have sunstreaker, bluestreak, prowl, etc?

I realize sunstreaker will never happen now that bee is a yellow camaro, but still...

I really wish has/tak would do with transformers what DC does with it's heroes... Have a kids series on tv, make a few teen/adult straight-to-video based on comics, and the movies for the dullards who enjoy 3 hours of life-support.

 

It's pretty whack that we've gone 4 movies without an Autobot police car... Seems like a super obvious choice, especially since he was the Autobots original second-in-command. I mean, i guess Barricade was supposed to be kind of a black joke sort of nod to Prowl, but they should definitely bring him out eventually.

 

Oh just wait. TF5 will probably half half or most of these new Autobots disappear, as they add new vehicles into the mix. And well probably get another design upgrade for Bee.

 

Transformers =/= Only Optimus. Just my opinion, but I don't think giving speeches and growing increasingly angsty and murderous counts towards character development, nor do I accept fan deductions on how the war has affected Optimus off-screen.

He received a passable, not good, passable amount of development in AOE, I'll give you that.

If movie Optimus can be passed off as character development then Beast Wars/Animated must be some kind of literature.

 

I picked Red Alert because we need a new medic on.the team.

 

I think we gonna get tf5(a) and a tf5(b) i.e a spinoff movie expanding the franchise in a marvel way and we going to get at least a couple of films running side by side off the back of this the autobots on earth and their struggles and optimus and his adventures finding the creators....this is my observation and opinion but i think given what bay and co said its obvious

 

Personally hoping Prime will meet Rodimus in space and then they return to earth in tf6

That's because every Decepticon we've gotten so far with the exception of Megatron and the Constructicons have been police/military/service vehicles.

This is of course Decepticons with vehicles modes. Alice, Frenzy, Scorponok etc. aren't included in my statement.

I kind of like the idea of the Decepticons using what the human public would consider a "safe side" for their alt modes.

That being said though, I wouldn't mind a cop car Autobot myself.

 

Not everyone had military vehicles.Soundwave,Sideways,Laserbeak,Stinger Megatron/Galvatron(DOTM and AOE),Junkheap,the Vehicons

 

Ah, forgot Soundwave and Sideways. Laserbeak does not have a vehicle mode, Stinger and the Vehicons are "drones" and aren't true Decepticons. Megatron/Galvatron was already mentioned.

Regardless, the idea is still there.

I agree. Keep this core Autobot lineup intact and give us more background on who they are.

I would also love to see Ultra Magnus as leader of the last remaining Autobot fleet - a role similar to Animated. Have Optimus meet his forces and have a political showdown between the 2 leaders on the future of the Cybertronian race. Optimus after all was involved in the destruction of their home planet in order to save another. I think some internal heat between the Autobots would make for a good break from the usual good guy vs bad guy theme and engage us into the concerns and struggles of a wartorn civilization thats been decimated to just a few survivors, and have been left with few resources and nowhere to call home.
