What the hell is Star Trek 2009? Do you mean Star Trek that was the prequal to Captain Kirk? There are like 10 Star Trek movies!
Yes I know that. But he called it Star Trek 2009 which made it sound like it was something different. I understood it as a prequel. Others say it was a parallel universe thing.
LOL! Yea, which one indeed. Lets see, there's original TV series. TNG, DS9, Voyager, to name a few billion. There's Star Trek the one you mentioned. Star Trek I The Motion Picture Star Trek II something or another Star Trek III The Search for Spock? Star Trek IV blah, blah, blah. Star Trek V what's its called. Star Trek oh, forget it. Too many! LOL! Yea, the Russian kid was supposed to been one of the main characters that had that funny accent. But, I can't remember who now. What I liked about the movie is it looked like the actors actually had fun making it. It wasn't just a job to them.
How on Earth was there ever any confusion about what movie the guy meant? Common sense, people. Context clues. These are handy tools. Use them.
khaaaaaaaaaan!! Ok seriously on topic is movie#7 - Generations worth watching? I am scared to watch it because of what happens to Kirk. But if it's good I'll give in.
The russian kid is named Pavel Chekov and yes he is from the original series. Interesting the same actor who played him ( in the original series) , Played Bestor on Babylon 5.
I liked Star Trek Generations. It was pretty cool to see Picard and Kirk together. The one I didn't like was the Nemesis where Data died.
Stardestroyer.net tore Nemesis apart in the most hillarious way. Worth a look if you don't like Nemesis.
I liked it when the captain or somebody mispronounced his name. Instead of Chekov, it sounded like he said Jack-Off! LOL! Star Trek "2009" was awesome if your a Star Trek fan.
ok to clarify: Star Trek (2009) is the 2009 film directed by JJ Abrams that felt more like a pilot episode never aired on TV than a movie and where Spock hooks up with Uhura as opposed to Kirk calling dibs on everything green and packing a va-jayjay. that eliminate the confusion now? it is an okay movie, but it messed with too much of the mythos of the original series for my taste. I am not a hardcore Trekkie, but certain elements made star trek appealing to me. Namely the rift between Spock and Sarek. the strong bond between spock and his mother, and the fact that Vulcan still exists... as for the other movies, Wrath of Khan is a battle movie. must see. The Undiscovered Country is a hoot and a nice way to send Shatner and Cast off. First Contact is the only TNG film i care at all for.
Kids gonna watch the old ST movies after watching the new one? Boy is he going to be dissapointed. Just sayin'.
