For PC, no. PC is also where most players are. Multiplayer for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 don’t even work anymore, and soon the remastered editions won’t work, so logically, that would leave PC with the only multiplayer servers that are still on because of steam. I thought that’d be pretty obvious.

 

Wait, does this source code termination extend to people who already own copies on Steam? Are they actually going to prevent people from redownloading the game from steam's servers after the year ends? I have never heard of such a thing. The most Steam ever does when a license expires is delist a game and prevent additional people from purchasing it - they never remove it from people's personal libraries, nor prevent them from downloading it whenever they want too.

 

No, I think you're mistaken. It disables the download codes that you can purchase off amazon and G2A, so there is no way to get ahold of a copy of FOC unless you already have it after December

So far, it is preventing people from downloading the game, and as of now, it seems like the servers would still be up for FOC for a while longer.

Nah. The license between Hasbro and Activison is over, so the game shouldn't be able to circulate around anymore. All downloads codes are official with a one time use. I'm a little confused, If the license deal is over for Activision, what would the pension do? If you already owned the digital copy, you should be able to re-download it again, right? If you can't, couldn't you request for your money back?

 

You can redownload it, but the petition was talking about how others will no longer be able to purchase it. But, due to inside drama, it seems like the petition was taken down so... I dunno

I know nothing about this, so bear with me if this is a dumb question. I bought used copy of both WFC and FOC on the PS3 but didn't even install them. Would this affect me playing at least the Story mode?

Should be fine. There's probably a few exceptions for other titles where this situation would kill the game but in this case it isn't doing online check ins or anything to prevent an install.

There are some games that will one day be useless because of ridiculous DRM systems and stuff.

None of them are Transformers, or maybe even single player so I probably shouldn't have mentioned it. And you'd be able to install them if nothing after that. I'm even willing to accept that someone has exaggerated the severity of these check ins to me but they exist.

 

If I find a 360 physical copy, can you download the remastered version, or was that released as a completely separate game rather than an update? TIA
