I have this horrible TRU by me, but they are always good for having the MPs on the shelf. Grimlock literally shelf warmed. Rodimus didn't shelf warm, but he was around for a while.

Well, yes and no. If Grimlock didn't shelf warm for so long, maybe I would have not bought him, hence never kicking off my collection habit and saving me soooooo much money. LOL.

Optimus looks really good, but to be honest I think I like the darker blues on the TT better. Depending on the price, availability I may pick him up.

I can live with his blue being a tad bit lighter that's no problem. What really worries me is what kind of quality hasbro will bring to him.I really hope it's not the same like tru rodimus because his quality felt very cheap compared to tt rodimus. We shall find out soon.

Hahahaha so true. You can only wave a delicious figure in front of us for so long before we bite. After that... Commence feeding frenzy.

How did it feel different? It's the same mold built in the same factory.

When I transformed tt rodimus it didn't feel like I was going to break it.Tru rodimus I actually saw stress marks on the plastic it's self and when I would moved his arms and legs I just didn't feel comfortable in transforming him as I t just like crap.Wyvern have seen both in person to compare them?

I would much prefer $60 for MP Thundercracker myself.

    $100? I only have $93 spending money left...grr...

TRURoddy definitely feels cheaper in hand, though it could be because he looks cheaper. A lot cheaper, next to the takara release anyway.

I wonder if I'd be able to tell the difference blindfold. I suspect I would, because the Japanese release sure does look like it has nicer plastic. I've not had them out since last September though, still don't have my display set up.
    Maybe tomorrow..

    EDIT: I should mention I have TT MP09 v2.

I can believe that it would get a limited number like that, but I have trouble believing it will be out in July. You would think we would have heard a street date by now, if it was releasing that soon. Also, I thought we were already told it was getting a September release.

Whilst i don't like to build hype, or engage in almost baseless speculation... maybe there'll be a certain amount available for SDCC?

I had both at some point but I never transformed them. They stayed in bot mode the whole time before I gave away TRU Rodimus. He felt the same to me.

Keep in mind that "july" could mean "July 29". TRU has gotten new toys out around that time for the last several years, so it wouldn't surprise me.

Actually, those numbers seem about par for course given how much reduced TRU's market has gotten the last few years.
This is just the first time the exclusives were revealed by a TRU memo, not a Hasbro announcement, which is the only reason we know the production size at all.
In all reality, Grimlock and Rodimus were both produced around the 20,000 mark.

MY MP10, MINE...anyways, I sure hope he ends up being more like $80 instead...$100 is a bit too much...having only $3 left over wouldn't be useful. At best, it would get me 2 bottles of Mountain Dew...not that I'd be unhappy with 2 more bottles of DEW...

Here's to many inevitably unhappy people not being able to get Prime because it's a stupid-ass exclusive like usual. Yay!
