I anyone else bugged by the fact that the animators are getting lazier when it comes to Sari's Key? I don't mean "Poof You're Better" thing, no, I'm OK with that. It's that originally, the key would transform to fit into the existing socket of something. That was cool. Next, it went to the object transforming a key hole to accommodate the key. I was OK with that. But now, every appliance in Detroit seems to have a slot on it for the sole reason of putting the key in. Thoughts?
Every electronic device now has a USB port. Who is to say that the Allspark didn't explicitly design the key to interact with a universal port seen on technology 50 years from now. If the Key was in our time, if it was USB or maybe an SD card, it could probably interact with a significant number of devices. Not to mention the Key can shift inputs. I mean it was designed by the Allspark which is basically the embodiment of the TF god. It appeared to have sentience and it would have easily been able to determine from Sari's brain a common interface device for her to use it. I am not sure why that is an issue, Her Macguffin is about 50 times better thant he rest of the kids. I mean look at Kicker and his magic energon detecting hair after being tentacle-raped by Primus?
Brawlastator - good point! I just rewatched TF&ROut! and was thinking the same thing. On my list of 'bugs' with TFA animation it is a long-way behind some of the lazier whoosh! and whizz! transformations.
I finally actually saw it aired on TV the other day. And I honestly think it looks better in DarkPrime's downloads. Huh.
I kinda liked when the key or slot transformed, but except for the toilet, everything else the key was used on made sense to have a slot like that at least. I agree with the USB theory, but a transforming key was kinda cool. Yeah, better to have fitting transformations than horrid anime-"I can spend twelve minutes transforming because I know the enemy ios way to fucking dumb to shoot me while I'm vulnerable" transformations. At least the whirly transformations are used sparingly and realistically. (I.e., something transforming that fast would be whirling) Cartoon clouds, FTL.
Pfftttt don't complain! Did you forget A/E/C clouds?! "I can spend twelve minutes there because I know the enemy is way to fucking dumb to shoot me while I'm vulnerable" Atleast the cartoon clouds are realistic enough to move!
Just because one cloud sucks more than the other, doesn't mean both clouds don't suck. Thank God they're don't spend too much story devoted to the clouds, the show really is much more better without them. But in A/E/C, they spent way to much time focused on the clouds. Wait... why would the clouds have people shooting at them? Regardless, clouds aren't real enough. If there's one thing the movie had going for it it was the realistic clouds, because half the time they were real.
Gotta love it when Admin hijack a thread with totally unrelated posts or belittle the OP's topic. And you're always going to get answers to questions like that. The most likely and obvious answer is that the animators got lazy. However, you will have the diehard faithful coming up with whatever justification, validation, reasoning, and support to make up excuses.
Ahhh... I've never seen any A/E/C apart from a YouTube thing called Symmetrical Docking. Yes, that was a little, well, odd. Personally, best transformations should be complicated but quick - Starscream's movie backflip being the fave. I blew coffee out of my nose reading the cloud posts. And I'm not even drinking coffee.
That Symmetrical docking clip might not have been A/E/C at all. Was it two trucks, 1 red and 1 blue doing a lot of shouting?
