okay seeing more poses and an alt mode twitch looks interesting.

i think megatron looks great all around. that alt mode is cool looking for sure.

bee...i like his robot mode a lot but the back of that car bugs me. it's oddly wide.

the rest of the line is just 'meh' to me so far.

Agree 100%. These are insultingly bad, ever for a "kids" line. And if this line succeeds, all we have to look forward to in the future is more sub-par garbage like this. I seriously hope this line fails... hard.

does anyone else find that crease line on Optimus Prime’s faceplate very distracting? very curious design element there

wtf is wrong with their eyes....

also I guess they're only doing baby shows now. I mean they really dropped the ball having all of their recent general audience Transformers cartoons be done by the machinima people (before and after the company bankrupt). So I guess maybe they think general audience TF shows are unprofitable, when really they just sucked ass.

well see what he does in the show. his gun is still huge tho
its just a kids show. weve always had kids shows. i dont see what makes this look this much like a "baby show"
its just the main toylines for the shows have changed and have generally become worse. but even then the deluxes are still decent for their budget. times are different

I don't think Earthspark is intended to be a babies show, it is the general audience show, they stated that kids and families can sit down and watch it like Cyberverse or Animated,.

Pretty sure there's still stuff like Rescue bots and Bot Bots is geared to younger audiences.

Also I think the Netflix WFC trilogy was meant to be geared to an older audience and fans like how they tried with Prime Wars.

Also I doubt Hasbro thinks TF shows are unprofitable if they're pushing for Unionised VAs again, getting big actors like Alan Tudyk and had a SDCC panel all for Earthspark.

Yes I agree larger scale black and purple would be awesome. it's been a while since I was excited about a non generations figure.

See THIS is the mentality that allows Hasbro to make their Transformers smaller and smaller, more hollow and more hollow, use cheaper and thinner plastic, outside clip-on wheels when even the normal cheap clip-on wheels are too "expensive," and keep charging more and MORE. But we just HAVE to accept that?

Nope. I've finally hit my limit.

25 bucks for a hollowed out (and just noticed even the back of the legs are completely hollow on the deluxes), small, outside clip-on wheels, no wrist or waist articulation, figures?

Nope. If Hasbro wants my hard earned money they can make better figures.

    >>> Just noticed that the figures are SO hollow and thin that the light Hasbro used to showcase light piping on Terran ... you can see right THROUGH the plastic on the toy.

Counter arguments ... kids toys. You're an adult. Not meant for you. Prices of oil ...blah blah blah.

Unfortunately, clip-on wheels are here to stay. Sometimes they're not so bad when the plastics match and can't see them. Here, on Bumblebee, they stand out. Out.

That'll be the majority of Transformers for the foreseeable future. It's something we're most likely going to have to come to terms with, but I absolutely get where you're coming from. Especially when they're $25.00 a pop.

I'd be shocked if they did have them, but it would only make me sadder. "Oh, wow! Look at all that articulation! Shame it's being wasted on these..."

You can do that anywhere on this board, anytime, doesn't mean it needs to be here. Just going after someone because you can doesn't mean you're right, that it's warranted, or that people actually like it. (Save it for the Earthspark Appreciation thread, this ain't it.)

Bingo. Exactly. This isn't a show you sit down for, you poke your head in and realize it's not for you and keep on steppin'. A lot of clashes, fights, and problems would go away if people could just control themselves and mind their own friggin' business because someone else gave an opinion they don't like.

Incessant complaint? They're not the only ones who are tired of clip-on wheels, thinner/hollow plastics, and kids lines being dumbed down because they don't understand the target audience they try to bend over backwards for. Kids don't want Masterpiece, but they don't want Stupid Happy Meal 2.0: The Director's Cut, now with more ugly designs and less everything.

This. Just move on. FFS, winning an internet argument will do ZERO for you. So, what? You get a little bit of an internet pat on your back because you told someone off over their opinion because they don't like a toy or its design and you do? That won't lengthen your life, it won't give it purpose, it won't make it better, it actually makes it worse. "Mom! I won a fight!" "You did?! Where?" "Online! Over some toys!" "...'kay." *mom cries inside and thinks "Where did I go wrong?! Why are all these internet nerds like this?!"

Indeed. Why are we all like this? Time to grow up a bit. ALL of us.

...yeah, that'll show him. You take that high road. You go, Glen Coco.

    Exactly.

Do you really mean it? Do you really mean Bye? Because the rest of us would LOOOVE it.

    That would be great IF:
-They didn't look like they'd break if you sneezed too hard.
-They actually looked fun to play with.
    -They actually looked cool.

During its heyday, Cyberverse never, ever sold well. Every Target and Walmart I went to was overstocked on them and they never really moved. It was the adult collectors buying them up and they didn't troop build the figures, (not in general, Gnaw is an exception) and kids looked elsewhere. Not every kid, of course, but most looked elsewhere for their toy fix.

We're so busy elevating ourselves to be a larger piece of the pie chart, when we're not. We give too much credit to kids, and then blame them for these designs and ideas, and it's not their fault. Hasbro's out of touch and won't try anything pleasing to all ages. I'll give them credit on one thing... The Bayverse movies actually did pull that off. Kids, teens, adults, all lined up to watch those. They weren't really appropriate for certain members of the audience, but it did it.

They could do something like that again, for kids. Kids deserve better than this.

Okay, now here's where I disagree with you. Don't shame someone. It's wrong, it's not a good look, and you don't know what he's going through or what his life is like. Don't do that. Don't be that guy. Don't be like the people who pick on you.

Not just you. This looks much better than the pink Simpsons mobile she'll be sportin' in Legacy. (I cannot believe we don't have a crossover figure, yet.)

While I don't hope for negative things, I do hope they learn from this and realize kids aren't stupid and do want more. They want better. Some kids have moved on from toys, sure. Plenty of others want them, bad. For those who want them, they should get a solid and good figure/line, not this mess. I don't understand where these companies got the idea of "Ugly and simplified? BINGO!"

They really did suck ass. You can clearly tell that Hasbro is out of touch these days. And not the designers. Mark and Evan have their fingers on the pulse of things, they clearly are paying attention and trying to make it work. It's the budgetary constraints, and the powers that be, that push them to do what's out there now. It's the shareholders and "focus groups".

Hasbro, as a company, really only knows how to make money. The designers know how to make toys they'll never be allowed to.

I honestly expected worse from this line due to promo art but I always appreciate a different style, even if I don\'t like it at first.  I was the same way with Animated but I came around and it was one of the best incarnations yet.

Why is it the case that it's one set of clip on wheels with the ugly pegs sticking out? Like it's actually more jarring to have one set with the pegs than if the four wheels were identical.

They toys could really use some more paint, but that has been a problem with the cartoon toy-lines since RID2015. I’d be disappointed if it wasn’t expected at this point. But seriously, there’s a huge circle on Meg’s chest that was obviously meant for the Decepticon Insignia that is completely blank.

I do like the designs for Elita, Megs, and the new bot, but I’m going to wait off a bit and see if any upcoming waves have recolors that look prettier.

Bumblebee looks decent, but is very close to his better looking Thrilling 30 toy. I can’t really justify purchasing him when I already have that Thrilling 30 mold sitting in my collection, so I plan on skipping him.

Optimus literally looks like an Authentics toy. Maybe I’d be into a scout sized version of this mode, but I cannot justify getting that at the Warrior price-point.

Skywarp is literally nothing new. It’s mold was super overused in Cyberverse, I hope it isn’t here to stay for the duration of Earthspark as well.

These toys look like retooled Animated toys. Hasbro getting lazy with their designs? No more inspirations for new designs of toys?  Here\'s a thought.  Make all decepticons military vehicles and Autobot civilian vehicles. Or try a reversal...all Deceptions are car based and Autobots all air based.

The Legacy and Earthspark reveals are the first time I've ever been universally horrified by all the new figures revealed. Usually there's some crap balanced out by some that look pretty good, or even great. They even recycled parts from Skids, the turd of wave one, and that's one of the better looking toys here.

These look cheap, hollow, borderline dollar store. The budgets must have been slashed to the bone because I thought (and still think) that Legacy wave 2 looks pretty good – a bit cheaper than Siege and Earthrise, but not horrible by any means.

I'll be very interested to see what future waves look like because that may decide if I even bother continuing with mainline Hasbro anything. I honestly don't see how the recent trends can continue without, eventually, producing product that nobody will buy.

It feels like we may be headed for a future where all main lines are akin to the Velocitron subline, 80% redecos of older toys and only one or two new molds for the entire line. At some point the budgets will fall too far to afford new tooling for for most of each wave.
