Reissuing TR Soundwave and doing a "cassette" 3-pack, huh? Boy, Hasbro is leaning HARD into this '80s motif right?

 

Not really a fan of Prime and Chromia, but everyone else looks great!

 

I am actually glad about that- I am far from a completionist, but easily see myself picking up a handful of them at that price point (essentially $5 a figure) since Micromasters were the figures I have the most nostalgia for

 

I just noticed on pic 466 that Sideswipe has a black version of Cerebros\' Grand Gun.

 

Okay so Chroma is a heavy retool of PotP Moonracer*, much improved too.
And that is a darn nice Ironhide.  Still van-esque but has a dash of Rosenbauer.  If they need name clearance, they can call it \"Apology for Classics Ironhide\".

I love the Micromasters and the effects parts.

The figure scuplts on the larger figures look too busy for my taste, but it might grow on me? I like their general shape-- I'm sure I'll end up buying them.

What I'm most concerned about at this point is the battle damage. I know people tend to like that stuff, but I think heavy dry brush looks terrible. I've seen too many great Star Wars figures over the years ruined with heavy dry brush.

It would be great if the damage was applied with that printing technology they're using on the 6 inch Marvel and Star Wars figures-- controlled consistently applied from figure to figure.

 

I'm seeing it too. These are just really visually noisy, and I think it's not being done any favors by the drybrushing. Seems to me like a change in aesthetic.

Loving that some of the micromasters seem to have worked in Armada Minicon nods too. So they blended classic with that.

Like how TR Perceptor was "Apology for previous Perceptor."

Yay! I missed out on that. Love to have another chance to get him. I saw him once at a store, but he kept selling out too damn fast.

 

It says 'POLICE' in Ancient Autobot, except... the letters are mirrored? The other side, hopefully, has the letters written correctly.

Uhhh can we put those butt images under spoilers or something? If we aren't gonna straight up take them down, at least do something lol this is a kids place XD

 

Looks good, but the bad thing here for me is where are all the cons? I sure hope their reveals are being saved for the panel, I\'d hate for this to be as Autobot heavy as Combiner Wars was.

I see Ironhide is using Cog as a shield and weapon system I wonder if it's going to be a full figure or just its own thing. So far I'm loving everything I see here I'm a sucker for a detail in these figures look extremely well detailed. For anybody who loves to paint these are the perfect figures for so I can't wait to get my hands on a couple of them Ultra Magnus why I love my combiners War version I think this one's going to take its place can't wait to see what else has bro has up their sleeve for this year and next year.

It's fucked up that the thing I'm most excited about out of all of this is that pack with Rumble and Howlback, followed distantly by "Oh, neat. A Stakeout for my Wreckers shelf."

ETA: the name "Doombox" is great too. That's great and I like it.

 

Better be a combiner port on that Chromia or I'll sacrifice a Moonracer so that she does. Don't tempt me. Micromasters making a come back irks me. What next? The return of Actionmasters? Looks fairly okay as a whole but I'm wondering why I should invest in a lot of it.
